And just like that you lose a customer. I go in to pick up my order that I have gotten there quite regularly. I walk in the smoke side entrance to get to the register and I enter to see two chairs in my pathway followed by streamers and balloons taped about so my instant thought was “they just had a party, some chairs are out of place..carry on” and a woman server (wore glasses, tight curls pulled up) literally chastises me as I’m still at the entrance stating “that side was blocked because the floor is wet” in a condescending tone. I go to the register and I’m standing in front to pay and she proceeds to place my food order on the opposite counter…as if to clue me in to stay on the other side…again, extremely condescending body language and nonverbal communication. As a mom/wife/caretaker who has been a server for a long time back in my 20s here’s some tips since I certainly didn’t leave you one for your poor attitude: Blocking the doorway with chairs is a fire hazard. You can’t do that. You had no wet floor sign down. If I slipped I could sue and win. Get a sign and maybe that will help your customers know?? Go back over it. Dont speak to customers as if in a matter of 2 footsteps into your establishment theyre supposed to know you mopped…especially if there is no sign… I get it. It’s an hour before close and you want to get the heck out of there after being on your feet so you’re getting your side work done asap. It doesn’t give you the right to act as such. Mop over it again. It’s what you do.
What you don’t know is I’ve had a hard day of nausea all day as I’m trying for my second baby. And this soup is the only thing I wanted. But unfortunately you (almost) ruined my appetite and certainly...
Read moreThe place has super cute hole in the wall vibes :) I was looking at close restaurants, and this place has good reviews, and I was sold on the "kid friendly" part. Employees were friendly. The food was good, and it came out extremely fast after ordering. My 1.5 year old is kind of a screamer, and he wasn't too bad today. Thankfully, no one seemed bothered by him. Now, here are my complaints: 1. The restaurant is split into a smoking and non-smoking section. We didn't know that, so we walked into the smoking side on accident. There should be clearer signage staying which side is which. 2. No high chairs; for me, in order to be considered kid friendly, boosters/high chairs are necessary especially with a really wiggly toddler, my husband held our son while I ate and then we switched when I was done. 3. There was literally no sound, so you hear all conversations going on (some were spicy! And some were pretty inappropriate) 4. The smoking side is the side with the kitchen AND the register. It's pretty confusing to me to have to walk through smoke with food and drinks to get to the non-smoking side. 5. We only got checked on twice and it took a long time in between each visit and didn't get a refill on our drinks because of that and we were definitely thirsty but got handed our bill, so we paid and left. I will probably go back here with my adult friends or family when they're in town, but I don't recommend if you have kids that can't sit in normal chairs yet. My husband and I both have worked in hospitality management, which is why my review might be...
Read moreThe place was empty so we had decent service by default. Food was good but it sort of all came off as packaged items that are reheated. Not sure if that’s the case but it just sort of seemed that way. Felt like we were eating alot of reheated stuff. Like probably a big pot of instant mashed potatoes in the back (which I actually love), however, both my wife and mine’s potatoes seemed sort of cold. Everything was okay, nothing blew us away. We think my wife’s meat entree had gone bad before frying. I tried a bite of hers since she seemed to be picking at it and had to spit it out because it tasted like it had “turned”. We finished up with some apple crisp and ice cream for dessert and called it a night. I liked the small town feel of the interior decor but given the fact that her stomach was upset most the next day, probably won’t be returning.
We went for dinner service. Had a friend later recommend their breakfast being much better so maybe we’ll try...
