My wife and I went to Mudville Grill last night with friends. I ordered a Kobe burger and asked that it be cooked medium. When it arrived I cut into it and it was oozing red. I called our waitress over and she agreed that it was rare and not medium. She apologized and said she would have the kitchen remake it.
When she brought it back a few minutes later, it was the same burger only now it was extremely well done (I’m wondering if putting meat back on the grill after a customer has handled it violates the Health Code?).
I showed it to our waitress again and she again apologized and said she would have the kitchen make me a new burger.
I waited longer this time and by now my wife and friends were half way finished with their dinners. A waiter brought me a new burger and this one was also well done. I called the waitress over again and she was extremely apologetic.
By this time we only had 20 minutes left before we had to leave for the theater; otherwise I would have sent this burger back too. I ate what I could and left the rest. I later got indigestion from eating overly cooked meat.
The restaurant took my meal off of the bill but that doesn’t change the fact that I had a lousy dinner and was unable to enjoy it with my wife and friends.
At this point I think either the owner or manager should have come to table and apologized for ruining my dinner.
I would give even lower marks except that our waitress was very sweet. But I’m wondering if the kitchen over cooked my burger on purpose? One of my friends also ordered a burger and it was cooked medium without...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I were in Ed's for our first time several weeks back around lunch time on a weekend. We both ordered the special: fish tacos! (With Bloody Marys and beers to wash it down.) The bartender made a tasty drink and then brought out the food to our seats at the bar, but really didn't speak to us aside from taking our orders. When another man (who given their conversation was definitely at least in a managerial role) came behind the bar to talk about the big police officer party they'd hosted the night before, the bartender at that point finally asked how everything was or if we needed anything else, but I definitely don't think we would have had any interaction had there not been someone who mattered right there watching. Small talk goes a long way when you have two people seated a few feet away and it's their first time in a restaurant.
A $60 lunch deserves at least a little personality served on the side, especially when we were the only 2 people seated at the bar, but the food was very good and we'll definitely be back in here to explore their menu a little more! Just hope someone else is behind the bar when we...
Read moreVery disappointed by our take out meal tonight. Was craving some chicken strips so we ordered the "Adult chicken strips" it stated it came with 6 so my wife and I split that, along with the bavarian pretzels and the wedge salad. This dinner was basically a reheates frozen meal we could of made ourselves, the chicken strip meal only came with 5 hard and dried strips that were all identical in shape and dryness.(nothing screamed fresh) Some of the strips even had weird air pockets with hollow centers which I have no idea how that's possible. The wedge salad was decent besides the fact the blue cheese dressing was sour and spoiled and we used ranch instead. The "bavarian pretzels" came with 3 small previously frozen pretzel that tastes microwaved. So basically everything about this meal was quite bad, well minus the fries, those were really tatsy and definitely fresh, everything else, terrible through...
