I have had so many excellent experiences here since I was a child, but particularly in the past two years as an adult, I've come to appreciate Main Street.

Where do I even start? Their hours are amazing; I have no idea how they're open for so long every day. I can come in super early or super late, and experience the same quality food and service.

The food is excellent; fresh and delicious, and always comforting. You can tell the cooks make all of it with love. Price of food is very fair, especially with the raising of prices all around. A typical (huge) entree with all the fixings will cost around $15 at the time of writing this.

And the service? Always above and beyond. I've never encountered anyone even remotely annoyed, let alone rude. Everyone is always talkative and nice, and very fast. It feels like coming over to a friend's house for breakfast. They're even super patient with small children. Normally I wouldn't care about that, since I don't have kids, but they do such a good job interacting with sometimes fussy children, I did notice!

Since the pandemic, I've noticed every staff member wears their masks properly, and they take extra care to wear gloves when needed and to sanitize the seats and tables before and after everyone eats, but they never seat you at a wet table. Despite all the sanitation and masking though, you don't lose any of the warmness of coming over to a friendly diner.

And, the best part of Main Street: Betty. Betty has been at Main Street for as long as I can remember, and has always been very sweet and attentive. She's amazing. She'll check on you, ask you how hungry you are, assure you many times that if you need anything, you only have to ask. She'll remember your name and face. She designs some (if not all) the specials and entrees at Main Street, and before you order, she'll let you know what she's created this time. My review was prompted by her creation of the cinnamon roll breakfast sandwich.

Let me explain: I've had many cinnamon rolls. I've had many breakfast sandwiches. Betty's cinnamon roll sandwich is one of the best of both of those things I've ever eaten. The cinnamon roll, which she made that very morning, was the size of my head, if not bigger. It was hands down the best cinnamon roll I've ever eaten. It is served as a sandwich, with tons of meat and eggs and cheese of your choosing (I had over-hard eggs, bacon, and swiss cheese). I don't think any breakfast sandwich or cinnamon roll or any combination of the two will ever surpass what I've experienced today.

If you're in Clearlake and have a hankering for some good diner food, please come to Main Street. You won't regret it....

I've been eating at Main Street since before I can remember. I've even worked there (for Sam, the original owner) for a few months back in the day. Up until tonight, I've ALWAYS had EXCELLENT service. Now I understand because of this Covid-19 BS only "X" amount of people are allowed to be seated inside the restaurant... Well they must've been at capacity because they started us outside. We were kinda expecting that so naturally we came prepared with our hoodies & coats because we knew it was going to get a lil chilly. So first off, took about 15mins for the waitress to come take our order. Second, about 5mins AFTER our order was taken, our buser finally came back to take our drink order. First she brought out e coffee then my ice tea then the milk shakes.. .took us 5 times of asking them for silverware so we could stir our drinks or eat the shakes. Took close to an hour before our order came, however, food was still Hot, our order was complete and correct. So between the time they brought the drinks, to when the food was ready, NOT 1 TIME did either of them check to see if we needed refills etc. My sister after the 1st cup of coffee to the time she had to wave someone down to ask for another cup of coffee was roughly about 20mins. Not once did they offer me a refill on my ice tea... & At this point they still hadn't brought us the waters I had asked for when I placed the drink order. So, our food arrives about an hour after we ordered, we had our drinks already, we received utensils after literally asking for them 3 separate times, we didn't even bother asking for any condiments because Lord only knows how much of a hassle that would've been.... So we got up and got it ourselves because we wanted to avoid the frustration that would've come along with. After all if us are pretty much done eating, our "waitress" (more just an order taker than a waitress) finally came outside & apologized because "I didn't mean to forget about you, we're just super busy inside... " Ummmm excuse me?! She didn't even fully walk out to us, she said this as she stood in the damn door way to the restaurant .. and that's also when she remembers that we were supposed to get waters before our food came out!! She basically told us, in so many words that we weren't important enough since we're sitting outside . Bad service! Great food! But not worth the $100 spent on dinner to have...
