The Chang Thai Experience ( Dine-In Edition). I had looked for other Thai options near my residence and stumbled upon Chang Thai. The reviews and prices looked enticing, so I was excited to try them out. However, I was somewhat stared at by the seen staff before being asked to sit upon entering the restaurant. After placing my order with the waiter, I went to the restroom to see if I had something out of place that caused the looks, but everything looked ok. The bathroom did appear clean during the visit. I ordered their crispy spring rolls stuffed with vermicelli noodles and vegetables, then deep-fried with a side of sweet & sour sauce. I also ordered their vegetable Nam Prig Paow made with mixed vegetables seasoned with crushed chili pepper and Nam Prig Paow sauce. Once the food arrived, the Nam Prig Paow was a little sweeter than what I am used to eating when ordering. However, it was good. The spring rolls were good at first bite, but I kept getting a sour cabbage/sauerkraut taste. Although I like cabbage and sauerkraut, that sour flavor was too strong throughout the spring rolls. So would I go back? The service was ok. It was nothing to write home about, and I somewhat felt out of place soon as I walked in. I have eaten at places where staff make you feel like they know you even though they don't. That is a skill set learned and mastered over time when working with the public and needed in the restaurant industry. The food was ok. The Nam Prig Paow was sweeter than spicy but still good. For me, the spring rolls were not much to desire, but the prices for what you get are phenomenal. So, I am unsure of my return because spring rolls are my favorite thing to order when eating Thai food.

We have been coming here since before COVID. I’m so glad this restaurant survived. The pineapple fried rice is one of my usual orders, but everything on the menu is fantastic. I do not usually like unsweet tea because I *love* sugar, but I always order unsweet here because it is delicious. I strongly recommend trying the unsweet tea and the numbers 27 (with scallops,) number 44, and number 61. All are soooo delicious. Parking is great because it shares with Harris Teeter and other stores. Handicap accessibility from my limited point of view is good. I see no obstacles from a wheelchair standpoint. We sometimes bring our kids. The servers are great; our kids are not always so great. We try to leave our kids home, but I have seen other children of all ages eat here with no issues. The service is beyond fantastic.

Gotta say, for ordering takeout from a Thai/Sushi combo restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised! It hasn’t been my experience that restaurants that do an Asian fusion tend to do any particular one thing well because their focus becomes broad. Not the case here though. I ordered three different sushi rolls, lobster pot, steak and mango sticky rice for dessert. The sushi was very good! While the lobster and steak don’t strike me as Thai-centric, they were tasty given the price point and offerings. I also enjoyed that my mango sticky rice sealed the sweet sauce in a separate container for me to pour on in my convenience instead of mucking up the container’s take-out bag. Fortunately the sweetness was already infused into the sticky rice so it was a nice have but not necessary.

Let me tell you about this hidden gem of a restaurant that combines the best of Thai and Japanese cuisine. Every visit to this delightful eatery is a culinary adventure. The menu is a fusion of flavors, offering a wide selection of Thai and Japanese dishes that never fail to impress. My personal favorite is their pad thai; it's not just good, it's perfection on a plate. The balance of flavors, the freshness of ingredients, and the expert preparation make it an absolute delight for the taste buds. What truly sets this place apart, apart from the food, is the exceptional staff. Each member of the team is warm, friendly, and incredibly attentive, adding a personal touch to every dining experience. Despite being a smaller establishment, the cozy ambiance adds to its charm. It's the kind of place where you feel at home, where the aroma of sizzling dishes mingles with an inviting atmosphere. Another remarkable aspect is the efficiency; despite its size, I've never had to endure a long wait. The quick service ensures that you can indulge in your favorite dishes without any unnecessary delay. This restaurant isn't just a dining spot; it's a haven of culinary delights, exceptional service, and cozy charm that keeps you coming...

My husband and I stopped in to grab lunch here. We love Thai food and have been to Thai restaurants all over the country.

Chang Thai is absolutely disgusting. I ordered Nam Prig Paow, which is a dish I have had many times. The sauce was horrible. It tasted like it was made with dirty dish water. I spit it out. My husband and I ordered some additional fried rice to share and take home. It had tomatoes in it that were rotten. Needless to say, I spit that out as well.

The service was not up to par, especially since we typically get fantastic service at other Thai restaurants in the area. Our glasses were empty from the time our food was brought out until we left.

I have no idea how this particular location has such great reviews . One experience was more than enough for me and I would definitely not eat sushi from here. I can't even imagine how badly that could turn out since they can't even handle a few cooked lunch dishes.

I live within 2 miles of this place and I go into Winston-salem to get Thai food. I will literally drive about 13 miles more to get much better quality food. Please, do yourself a favor, don't waste your time...
