Bratenahl Kitchen — Restaurant in Cleveland

This was my first & LAST time at this place! This was my first time trying Jamaican food and was EXTREMELY displeased with the service and the food. I ordered a lot of food to taste a little of everything. I called over the phone to place my order and I told the guy exactly everything I wanted to order. I asked the guy how much my total would cost and he said $21. I also asked for a Jamaican soda and asked what flavors they offered and he told me I can just pick once I pick up my order. I go pick up my order and when I got to the place I paid for my food and I was never given the soda so I mentioned it to the guy and he proceeds to tell me that I didn’t pay for it but he’ll give it to me anyway (keep in mind I was under the impression the soda was included in the $21 total since I asked for one over the phone in my order). I left with my food and as soon as I got in the car I noticed half of my order was missing. I went back into the restaurant to ask for the rest of my order and the guy I talked to over the phone stated that “You can’t get all this food for $21”. I told the man that I specifically told him exactly everything I wanted over the phone and asked for the price which $21 is what I was provided over the phone. The man clearly never wrote down my order and gave me the wrong price. He ended up charging me an additional $20 for the additional food (which I ordered from the beginning) I felt like I was ripped off I paid over $40 for food that wasn’t even hot. Had order a curry chicken w/ rice and beans and jerk chicken w/ rice and beans before they close for when I go to work that night and when I go to eat it it did not smell right. Still I opened it and to go dig in it was slimy and I don’t know bout yall but my family is from the Caribbean and I NEVER HAD NO SLIMY curry chicken or jerk chicken. Then I called the restaurant the next day the lady gonna tell me it’s nothing she can do and won’t let me talk to the owner. So I go to the restaurant and she tell me the same thing and won’t even look at the food. This review is solely based on customer service and not the flavor or taste of the food. It is a small owned business with only one man who I assume is the owner/chef working here. He is extremely rude and yelled at me because I was trying to understand what he was saying when he swiped my card with his portable card reader. He did not understand what I said and instead of clarifying with me proceeded to be rude. After realizing he was in the wrong, he simply offered no apologies but instead blamed it on “the heat.
