Comfort Cle may quite possibly be the absolute worst establishment I have EVER ordered from. For context, I placed an order for pickup using the door dash app. After a particularly challenging week…I decided on wings as a comforting dinner option. I never heard of comfort CLE before, but saw the great reviews and thought that their chicken looked pretty good. So I placed an order for 8 wings and fries, a bottle of water and 1 piece of cornbread.
My order pick up time was set for 8:54 pm, in which I arrived shortly after at around 9 pm. There was one customer in front of me who also had a door dash pick up. After that customer was helped, I was asked (VERY rudely mind you) by the same front desk employee “what’s your order pick up name?” When I told her my name, I was notified instantly that it would be ANOTHER 20 minute wait….Normally, I would have told a restaurant to cancel my order. But, given that I wanted to try someplace new and was also quite hungry, I decided to wait the additional time.
As I waited the additional time, I proceeded to watch an additional 3 customers come into the restaurant, place an order, and get served all while I waited!!! Coming from a customer service back ground, I completely understand being behind on orders. I also understand that it’s possible that the other customers had smaller, easier orders to fill. I even would understand if they forgot my order…but during this time, I can say with confidence that NO communication was shared with me in the slightest.
To make matters worst, when I asked for an update after waiting WELL over my pick up time, I was told “it’ll be a bit longer”. When I asked how much longer, I was told “I don’t know” in the most annoyed tone possible.
At this point, I had lost my appetite and no longer had the patience to wait. I asked for a refund and was told that “it would have to be through door dash”. I asked for my receipt and then proceeded to leave the restaurant.
The lack of communication, poor business practices and quite frankly nonexistent customer service has ensured that I will NEVER step foot through their doors. If I could give less than 1 stars I would…if you have a taste for some wings and find yourself in the Cleveland area, do yourself a favor and try...

Here is an update to my late review from the last time .. 8/12/24
This is the second time coming here.. I will definitely be back. It was just a whole vibe there.. from the guy getting kicked out of the kitchen because they thought he was doing too much 😂😂. I thought the customer service was amazing from the start of the phone call. The gentleman in front and back was nothing less than superb. This place is just a whole vibe, even when other customers came in we all were visibly vibing. The young lady at the table eating, even got me to try the ginger aid which was good. Now what made this even better was our power was out, and my sister and nephew came over because their power was still out. It was special because at a time when people’s spirit was low, this meal made everything special for us as we bonded over amazing greens, mac&cheese and baby them rice and beans were everything. I was going to cook that day, but the m glad I didn’t. I know that this was way longer than expected, but your team represents your vision amazingly and I thought you should know. In an age where everyone is recording bad customer service and horrible attitudes, no one takes the time and say thank you for a breath of fresh air.

Not only did I not walk out with a joyful experience, I walked out feeling annoyed. I asked for a sample. Got it. Then I asked for a second sample to help me decide my side dish & I genuinely only needed those 2 samples to help me decide & I stated that & Instead of professionalism I got a unnecessary smart mouth response. Over a spoonful? You’re acting like letting customers taste the food is going to take away from your profit, when in reality it could’ve added money to your pocket. I was a paying customer with a $33 tab, and it could’ve been more if you just gave me that one tiny sample. That’s literally how sales works. DUHHH. Suppose I liked it. I could’ve asked for an additional side resulting in more money for you but anyways let’s talk about basic manners. During the checkout process, or even as I walked out, not a single “thank you” “have a nice day” “ thanks for stopping in “ or even a simple smile. Nothing. You know kindness really goes a long way you never know how someone day is going & that lil gesture of kindness could’ve went a long way but anyways to wrap it all up EVEN WITHOUT THE BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE let me put the bad customer service aside … the food still wasn’t...
