Luciano’s Italian Restaurant In Clinton twp. #fyp #Italian #luciano

Over the years, I've heard so many good things about Luciano's, so I was excited to visit. Unfortunately, we were not impressed. My wife and I visited on a Friday evening. We did not have reservations, but we were seated quickly as they were not very busy and had several open tables. However, we were seated in the corner, which was clearly not meant to have a table in this location as we were literally sitting in a doorway. The door we sat in front of was extremely drafty and cold, which made for an uncomfortable dining experience. The corner was also dirty and dusty. Once we were seated, we waited 30 min before anyone even came to our table. We ordered, and it was another 30 minutes, and my wife's "side" of pasta was served first. 10 minutes later, the rest of the entrées were served. By this time, her "side" was cold. This "side" of pasta was a joke, with maybe 10 penne noodles on a small bread plate. I ordered the fettuccine alfredo, and it was very bland with nearly no flavor. My wife had chicken parmesan, and it was ok, but again, nothing special. The sauces truly tasted like canned sauce. They never offered any fresh parmesan cheese or anything like most places do. During our time here, our server NEVER came back to check on us, so as we were very hungry, we ate the mediocre food. Once we were finished, our server came and asked if we needed boxes. We said yes and waited another nearly 15 minutes, and no boxes came. Finally, a young gentleman came and asked if we needed anything. We explained we were waiting on our server to bring takeout boxes, and he was kind enough to box up food for us. The best part of the meal was the bread. I was overall not impressed with the experience, which was disappointing given the reputation of this restaurant. My final thoughts, do better! Get that table out of the dirty corner and away from that drafty door, especially in the cold months. Make your "sides" of pasta just a little larger and put some love into your food. Get those sauces more flavorful. The servers need to be more attentive. We were very upset that this experience was so subpar. The owners reply to my review is a BOLD FACE LIE!!! There were SEVERAL open tables and we waited 28 minutes exactly before our server came to us. We literally were discussing leaving the restaurant when your server came to our table.

Had a bad experience back and September and thought they could change my mind this time around. Well I was wrong. Very wrong. During this pandemic that we are all facing, I expected new challenges for this restaurant, so I could be patient if the food was not ready on time. Well, I ordered the food on May 5th, 2020, which was a Tuesday. I went to pick up the food on Mothers Day at 5:20 pm and it wasn't ready yet. They told me "Sorry it won't be ready for another half an hour, we are backed up." So I left and it still wasn't ready. In fact it took them two and a half hours for them to complete the meal I had ordered. Oh, it gets better I promise. When I got home, I was passing the food around to my family. They food looked great, except that we were missing a good portion of our order. How could this get any worst I asked myself? I ordered a NY strip to be cooked at medium. The picture that should be posted should say it all. It was RAW. The chef probably had it on the grill for no more than 3 minutes at most. People get sick off this! I know that I could cook a steak much better than these pathetic excuse of a chef could and for cheaper as well. I tried calling them and they ignored my calls for over 30 minutes. When someone finally answered, the managers refused to talk to me. I tried again later and they left early for the day. This has got to be one worst experiences that I have ever had regarding Italian restaurants. No comps for the missing food or a apology for the raw steak. Good thing there was a Jets next door. If the owner or manager like to get in touch, let me know as message here on the reviews page.

If I can give a negative rating I would. Horrible staff. Horrible experiences over and over again. I have no idea why I continue to give them a chance to redeem themselves. I’m going to explain an event that took place, After my date and I have ordered our food, her order is brought out, mine has not. They have a bad habit of doing this all the time to me. I ordered an entree specifically that had a side of pasta, the waitress told me it was a side, I was not pleased with the portion, and asked for more. She said she’ll be right back. By this time 20 minutes has passed since her food came out and mine has not. Finally she brings my food out, and it’s cold. This tells me my food has been sitting out for quite some time. I express this to my waitress, she says she will have him make me a “new” one and takes my order. In the mean time I asked about the pasta, I wanted more. She then says she will have to charge me for more. Already disgruntled because of this situation, you’d think they’d give it to me on the house for the inconvenience, but no. I tell her that’s fine, I’ll pay for it. But I’d like it now. She never gets it. I ask for the manager, she says she will get her. Manager never comes. I ask another employee there that asked us what was wrong (the older woman who works as the hostess), we explain the situation she goes to get the manager, manager never comes. My date over hears the hostess tell another employee “they’re doing this so they don’t have to pay for their food”. Mind you I still have not gotten my order and my poor date has been patiently waiting out of courtesy for my food to come out so we can eat together. She still has not eaten her food. Manager still a no show. We’re 45 minutes into this. I get up and tell my date let’s go. I go get my car, pull up to the front while my date was still waiting to speak to the manager. Once the manager is notified that we are leaving she threatens my date saying she can call the cops on us for not paying for our food. And we still have not eaten or gotten my order lol. The total was about 50.00 let’s say. I walked in threw the money at her and went off on her. Then she came to realize that we never ate, thinking we were dining and dashing. Complete joke. The manager may seem like a grown woman but acts like a spoiled brat. Her whole tuned changed when she followed my date outside and seen me sitting in a Porsche, and said you don’t have to pay, I still paid because I didn’t trust her or her staff. And also, I don’t know a place that screws up lobster as much as this place has. STAY AWAY FROM HERE. And the food isn’t really Italian....

This place has been one of my moms favorite restaurants for years. Its where we would make reservations for family events. They were taking mothers day orders so my sister ordered the meal to go and set up a 5pm pick up time 4 days in advance.

Mothers day comes and I arrive ten minutes early for my pick up. I call in and let them know I'm there. This is for sure when I get the first clue that there is no way I am getting food today. They don't even take my full name and have no idea what my order is when I ask to confirm its correct. This is a nice place and with the holiday i wasn't expecting the food at 5 on the nose. So 530 comes around and still no food. After about 20 calls I get through to another clueless lady on the phone. I explain that I have been waiting for a half hour now for a set five o clock pick up. I politely ask when I should expect this order. She then tells me that they are still working on getting 4pm orders out. This is at 530.

I called back my sister advised her I would not be waiting any longer and she needed to call and cancel the order. (its pre paid and under her card) After about 20 phone calls she gets through and asks to cancel. She requests to speak with a manager and they advise there is not on available and they one will call her Tuesday. (I do not expect this call to happen but will update my review if they do call back and attempt to remedy this at all)

The real kicker comes here. At 7pm, 2 hours after I was supposed to pick up my meal, they call my sister. They are demanding to know where my car is and to come get my food. My sister explains that she already called to cancel and that I left hours ago. She says the guy then started yelling at her on the phone before she hung up.

How a place like this can operate taking way too many orders then it can fill I will not know. Its not a new restaurant. Being busy on mothers day is one thing. If they had explained on my first call that they were that busy and my 5pm order wouldn't be done until 7pm I would have just told them to cancel and moved on. To waste my time and then be very rude on the phone is un acceptable. This place will not be receiving my...
