My issue wasn't so much with the food, but more toward the management. Firstly, after we were seated, we were asked about a drink. We decided to get s drink off their cocktail specials menu. They came, and the drink was fine. We ordered food. When it came out, we were asked about another drink. Decided to get another since they were good. The server bought out two more drinks. Only this time they were in much smaller glasses(less than half the size of the original). The server actually said " here's two more drinks, in smaller glasses", and quickly left. Not even asking how the meal was. We thought that was odd, and wondered why she said that, and why they were smaller. Now picture this. We were seated in the back, and there was one other small group of people seated directly across from us. I literally could have reached out and touched them. Now during the course of the meal, the server continually would come back and check on the other patrons, not even glancing over at us. Eventually she must have noticed we were "apparently" done. Asked us if we would like dessert. We graciously declined, and proceeded to question about why the second drink was smaller than the first. She didn't know, and asked if we'd like to speak to the manager. We accepted. When he came over, he already had his reasoning for the difference in size. It was because the first drinks were served in the wrong sized glass. So we actually got more for our money because of this. Making it seem like we got over on them. I simply tried to explain to him, if he could see it from our point of view that we felt we got short changed. We expected to get the exact same size drink. Keeping in mind, " no one" said anything to us about what size the drink should have been initially. We were just under the assumption that this was the actual drink. Had someone mentioned when we decided to order another round, that the glass size would be smaller because the original drink was poured into the wrong size glass, we would have understood. And could have simply said "no, thank you" or "ok, that's fine". So not being aware of any of this, we just thought they were trying to short change us. I never once mentioned that I wasn't going to pay for meal,or that I deserved a reduction in the price. I was just trying to get him to understand how if we had been told this "a long time ago" , things would have been completely different. But because they decided not to mention any of this the whole time we were there, we could only assume they were trying to take advantage of us. He didn't want to hear it. All he could say over and over again, was about how we got more than we paid for. And must have assumed we were trying to get a free meal. He was definitely getting mad, and finally said fine, what do you want? Not pay for the drinks? And just stormed off before we could say anything. We felt if anything, paying for one and a half drinks each would have been more than accepting to us. Again, I wasn't implying at all that I desired a free meal. He came back and gave us a bill with no drinks on it, and didn't say a word. The whole time we're thinking, why is he mad at us? He should be mad at his staff for not notifying us about something they obviously knew ahead of time. Or be mad at your bartender for serving drinks in the wrong size glasses. At one point the server told us, we got those size glasses originally because there were no more of the regular size glasses clean at the time. I was like really, you didn't have any more of the normal size glasses! Even if it was true, why didn't you say something when you brought them out. I look at it as, hey, that's on you! You messed up, you have to fix it. I know it may sound like a trivial matter, but because of that, I won't go back. In your reply to my review, you just proved my point about you. Very impatient and don't want to hear anything. You say you could give me a different glass everytime if you want. And that's true. And I would have no problem with that if I was getting the same amount of drink. You obviously...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI brought my family of five here for the first time on a rainy Saturday at 6pm. The bar was packed with local regulars and the dining room seemed pretty full. We were warned that a table for five would be about 20 minutes. No problem. We got seated, ordered drinks, received them and placed our meal order. Keep in mind that we didn't have any questions or odd requests. My daughter only asked that if the pasta dish normally has grated cheese on it that she didn't want cheese. Food runners brought out the food and we had two issues. The pasta had cheese on it and my wife's chicken sandwich didn't have any lettuce, tomato or onions on it (just chicken and a roll). Most of us started eating but we were waiting for our waitress to come back to check on us to ask for the toppings for the chicken sandwich. She made appearances back in the section to check on other tables but she never stopped back to the table or made eye contact so I could get her attention. Eventually we all just ate our meals because it had been an hour since we arrived already. Another 30 minutes went by and we were mostly done with the meals and the drinks were all empty. At that point I just wanted the check to get out of there. I understand this is a casual spot, but I wasn't about to chase the waitress down or make a big scene to get service. I spoke to an assistant manager about the poor service because everyone deserves to hear about it in person before a bad review shows up. She apologized and expressed surprise because all the servers have been there so long. She was also the one that gave us the bill. I don't know what was said to our waitress (Linda) but as I was counting out the money she barked "I hope you HAVE A NICE NIGHT!" I gave an extra star because the food wasn't bad short of the complaints already mentioned but that was the first and last time we'll visit. Maybe they have enough regulars and don't want any new customers. It's a real shame Linda, we normally tip extremely well when the bare minimum of courtesy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely amazing! My boyfriend always said their food was good but it was an understatement; I had ordered a special a couple days ago, the roasted half chicken w/mash pot. and broccoli. Let. Me. Tell. You. We started with appetizers. The French Onion soup and Fra Diavolo Calamari. The soup was topped with provolone and Swiss, this was the perfect combination of flavors to a delicious salty and light soup broth we F.O lovers all know to heart. I will admit, I was not a fan of the bread used within the soup. However, it was absolutely perfect for a cold fall night. The Fra Diavolo Calamari could have been better. Iām West Indian and Southern Italian so it wasnāt spicy to me at all but the flavor of the spices blended together was delicious and thereās nothing more the say.
The chicken was so moist, it tasted like they cooked it in a moisture bag(obviously restaurants donāt use moisture bags but you get the idea,) the flavor was prominent and the gravy meshed with it so nicely. It was divine. The gravy had just the right amount of salt and didnāt overpower the flavor of the chicken. The mashed potatoes were creamy and the perfect consistency, not too wet or dry. Lastly, was my desert, their Creme BrĆ»lĆ©e which was hands down, one of the best custards I had ever tasted in this type of dish ā It was ABSOLUTELY Heavenlyāŗļø
The staff was superb, food was quick to come out and everyone was incredibly efficient. I wish I had caught the managers name but he was VERY interactive with the customers and maintaining the restaurants atmosphere!
Overall, phenomenally well done! We Will be...
