We chose Alfredo's to celebrate our daughter's birthday. After waiting an hour for our food we asked the waitress who checked on our order. She told us our food would be out in 10 minutes. Well, we waited the ten minutes and saw a table who was seated after us receive their food, we spoke to Alfredo to share with him our concerns. He returned to our table and spat off times of when we were seated and when our orders were put in. He told us that our order would be out is 10 minutes. I told him that was the same thing the waitress had told us that 10 minutes ago. When we received our food, I truly expected Alfredo to return to our table to ask us how our food was and tell us he was sorry for the wait. What a difference genuine customer service makes, right? However, that never happened. Let me pause here to say that after waiting over an hour our sons food was cold. We had taken a cake to celebrate our daughter's birthday after dinner; however, after feeling like an unappreciated customer we decided to take the cake and go home. Before we left my husband and I tried once again to speak to Alfredo. He told us that they had over 30 take out orders which obviously took precedence over seated customers that night. We told him there were two tables that were seated after us that received their food before us. He told us that it made a difference as to what they had ordered as to when their food was cooked. We were a table of 8. Between the two tables that were seated and served after us, they were a combined group of 7 with similar foods as to us. Yet again, Alfredo just spat off times to us. He said, "I do not feel there is a resolution here." Alfredo: we were not looking for a resolution. We wanted to feel heard and appreciated. He made good paying customers that are supporting his business feel like we were the problem. He told us with a "restaurant like his" it is not unusual to have to wait. I'll tell you what is unusual. It is unusual for us to complain. We are normally go with flow kind of people and understand delays. We just simply wanted him to own it. I am unsure what it was about us that Alfredo did not like. It was obvious, we were not welcomed and our business was not appreciated in his restaurant. I asked my husband, who is a small business owner as well, what would happen if this type of situation were to happen at his business. He said it would have never got to the point that we did. At his business, they do their best not to let a customer...
Read moreWe had reservations for a group of 13 for upstairs. When the reservation was made we were told there would be a $500.00 minimum. No problem, between apps, drinks, dinner, wine, 13 people, no issue. When we arrived one of our party (who had not been before and was very excited to try it) checked us in and was told there was not an upstairs and we were seated across from the kitchen, by the stairs, that people were walking down... When the member of our party who actually made the reservations, several days prior, inquired as to why were not seated where she had requested; she was told it was a miscommunication. Hmmm... No upstairs, or miscommunication? No problem, we are seated together, we have been there MANY times in the past and have always enjoyed the atmosphere so we make it work. The problem comes when we place the drink orders. Mine comes out incorrect. I explain to the very nice waitress that it's wrong, could I please get another, only 1 sip, so not trying to take advantage. My friend sitting across from me orders pretty much the same, but different mixer, they do look alike, gets his drink and his was incorrect. At this point we kind of laugh and he lets the waitress know his is incorrect. I actually say you can leave it, I will take it but she doesn't hear me. The next thing we know the OWNER is standing/bending over the table with 2 drinks on a tray and asks my friend to choose which one is the wrong drink! Seriously? To ask a patron to choose the incorrect drink in front of a party of 13 that by this time has already spent $300.00 in nice wine and appetizers?? Not sure if because the reservations were wrong, then the drinks, if he thought we were going to cause an issue or what. We were certainly not rude about any of it up until this point. I could understand if we had been rude, causing a scene, none of that was happening. We paid and tipped the nice waitress for the appetizers and drinks, corked up what wine was left, and walked promptly out the door not even ordering dinner. The owner was very rude the entire time. He lost out on a very nice profit over an $8.00 drink from patrons who have been there several times as a group and as separate couples.. I can pass over the unprofessionalism, but I can not excuse the disrespectfulness that this man displayed. Needless to say we will never go back, and if there was a way to give a negative 5 star review, they...
Read moreEvery once in a while you find a gem in the culinary arena. Alfredo's is one of those gems. Not only do they go to the top of our list for top notch italian fare they make it into our top 5 across the board. Yes, they have the standards which they do VERY VERY well but they also have some dishes that impressed us to no end. There were 3 of us in our party and I had the shrimp and scollops. The scollops were the best I've ever had ANYWHERE. The pasta that accompanied them had a bit of a bite from the artichoke hearts, and roasted peppers in a lemon white wine sauce. DELICIOUS! My wife had a dish our server Arianna suggested which was off menu and was blackened chicken with tortellini pasta. She raved about it and it was indeed very very special. Our friend had the chicken marsalla which she gave very high marks to, saying it was some of the best she had ever had. The service was exemplary with our server giving us lots of suggestions that turned out to be spot on including Nonno's Salad which was large enough for the 3 of us to share and was a taste blend we had never had in a salad. Also she suggested a wine for me from my description of what I like. Again another home run! We traveled 45 mintues to get there and now it's at the top of our list for our next special night out. As the old commerial went "Try it, you'll like it", substituting love for like. And oh just another cherry on the sundae the ambiance is very special, great music playing softly in the background and very serene and pleasant even with the tables full. Make a reservation and check them out, you won't regret...
