La Feria — Restaurant in Clinton

We had a great experience tonight! Right when we walked in, we were met with a smile and bubbly personality. He asked us the usual (how are you? How many? Etc.) We had 2 plus baby so when he was done asking us questions, he acknowledged the baby and said directly to her, "hi baby!" And waved at her. It was great to feel that we as a family were welcome and appreciated there. He led us to a nice quiet spot where she (the baby) wouldn't be overwhelmed and if she acted up, she wouldn't really bother anyone else. They asked if we needed a high chair and when we said yes, we only had to wait about 30 seconds and BOOM! they had it at our table. The best part? They did a quick inspection of the high chair before we put her in it. They made sure it was clean and that it had working straps that he even tugged on. And this was all before the host even left our table for the server. The host did a wonderful job and got the baby to wave back before going back up front. The server was also very gracious. He gave us time to look over the menus without feeling rushed but also came back in a reasonable amount of time so we didn't feel like we were forgotten about either. The food was great and we didn't have to wait real long for it. The chicken in our dishes was phenomenal. It was seasoned/ marinated to perfection and grilled just right. Full of flavor. Had a very horrible experience going here for my first time. I asked the waiter about the burritos and if queso came on top he confirmed they do so I places my order for a very plain burrito just steak and queso on top we even laughed about it being very americanized.. When my burrito came out it was made wrong which is find everyone makes mistakes The waiter explained he would re make he and apologized to me.

When I went to go pay for my order I noticed they charged me 5.00 extra for the queso which is fine but explain that or dont tell someone it comes with it.

when I asked the manager about it He had a whole attitude saying you already wasted a burrito queso isn't cheap im lucky I wasn't charged more.. I explained I didnt wasn't anything my order was made wrong and he argued that they didnt make my food wrong and I should always assume queso cost extra anywhere.

Then he told me to go spend my money at another restaurant and I dont have to come back.

After being charged 24.00 on one burrito with such an attitude it makes you never want to come back.

This place has poor customer skills i mean I wasn't even asking for a discount or anything and he just went off.

We used to go there once a week, but over the last few months things have changed. The lettuce served is the bagged stuff with carrot shavings and red cabbage. On Mexican food? Asked the owner about it and he blamed the supplier. A month later the same supplier apparently made the same mistake. And the lettuce we were served on our food was slimy, rusted, stuff I would toss in the trash at my house. Most recently, we had to send our meals back to the kitchen to be warmed up. They were barely over room temp. The table next to us had to send theirs back too. Thought we should tell the owner when we paid, maybe he wasn't aware there was an issue. He wasn't at all receptive or courteous in his response, said he HAD to do that so he doesn't get sued if someone gets burned on the plates. We used to love going there.
