Ray's Time Out — Restaurant in Clinton

I really wanted to like this place upon walking in. The walls are filled with sports memorabilia and a trophy case of football helmets; it's actually pretty awesome. Unfortunately, the food just wasn't that great. We started with an appetizer sampler platter, it's your typical sampler that offers half orders for whatever you want with the exception of the giant pretzel. We went with mini corn dogs, mozzarella sticks, and fried pickles. The mini corn dogs were slightly overcooked, which is fine because I like the crunch, but they were just bland. The mozzarella sticks were good. The fried pickles were such a big disappointment. The batter tasted great, they were even a little spicy, but in my opinion they were undercooked and mushy.

I went with the double fried wings from a recommendation I received. The wings had decent flavor and the double fry process makes them extra crispy, but they were tiny. I also wish they sauced them after the fact, I didn't realize they were naked wings and you chose sauces to dip them in. The fries that came with the meal were actually really good, that was probably my favorite part.

Overall, for the price, it's just not worth it. The inside atmosphere is worth checking out if it's your first time, because it is actually is really cool to see, but the food is lacking. I most likely will...

The bar tender was rude, charge me 8.00 for a draft beer. Made me leave becuz another group I talk to got kicked out. Different group different people. Well not to sure how to reply back but I will fix the type o for ya, ya that pic was from a while ago my wife didn't go out that night with us, and nope I only order one draft beer. LOVE this place!! It's nothing fancy, but that's part of the appeal. It's a great spot to unwind on a Friday night. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and efficient even on the busiest of occasions. The food is delicious and there's a good selection of refreshing drinks. I especially like the honey bbq wings and the meatball sub.
