Stopped by for the 1st time today. Im not a seafood lover but my boyfriend is. I treated him to some $35+ plate, and I ordered a hot dog and corn on the cob, both had sodas. Food took a while to come out, but it was nice out, so it wasn't a big deal. When the food was put in front of us, his food was fresh and hot, and when I bit into my hotdog and tried the corn, they were both cold. I took one more bite of each then was like.. nah, I want to tell them. I walk back up to the register and said told them. I even said, I don't necessarily want $ back, if you wanna give me like a $10 gift card, (not thr full value) I'll come back and try again. They couldn't figure out how to do a gift card. (They asked Josh) One of the workers asked if I wanted another serving. I said no, I dont want to wait. So they said, bring back you card and we refund you. * at no point was there any discussion about me bringing my food up to the counter, nor did anyone visit our table regarding this issue to take my cold food the whole front area looked busy, and I looked at the young lady on the register, and I said... you want me to come back later? and she gave me a friendly... yeah. So.. im assuming... I'll eat my cold food (it was basically like eating cold food at a cookout that sat a bit) and come back when we are done, and I'll be refunded for my hot dog and corn as was agreed. (Side note. I was also served cold fries that i did not order) Later, I walked back up with my receipt of over $60, and all if a sudden no one remembers what we agrees upon. Josh comes out and refuses to honor the agreement because I ate the food. Im like.. but NO ONE said that was the stipulation. No one told me to bring it back, or grabbed it from my table. Are you really not going to credit me the money for my cold food that I told you about, and that your staff said they would refund me. And all he kept saying was ... well you ate it. And I would TOTALLY Agree with that concept, if I hadn't previously came up after taking 2 bites. I wasnt a coocoo bird ate the whole meal and was like.... haaaayyyy boy hey - l- want my money back now without ever complaining in the beginning. They made me feel insane and underappreciated for spending over $60 at their establishment. The miscommunication was on their end, and for that - I should have been compensated. The fact they knew I walked up earlier, but then tried to blame me for the mishap, is bad customer service. Im fully aware that it is just a hot dog and corn. But the experience of how they handled this small issue speaks volumes as to what they value. They rather hold tight onto that hotdog money instead of impressing someone with good customer service. To be honest, b4 going back up to the window, my boyfriend said the seafood was just "eh" anyway. So don't...
Read moreI was looking for a place to have waterfront dining and came here. You need to order food from the outside counter first, and then you need to seat yourself amongst whatever seats are available. Some are on an upper deck, some are on the ground, and some are indoors. So you don't know where you'll be sitting until after you place your order and go look for a spot. When paying, you also are give the option to tip then, which I did. I don't love tipping before I've had any sort of service or before I've eaten any food. We waited a very long time for our food to arrive, about an hour. Though the lobster bisque came about 1/2 hour after we sat. In fact, I saw the person who took my order sitting a few tables over eating before we received our food. One person who was joining me for dinner ordered coconut shrimp and a Buffalo chicken wrap, the other person ordered lobster Mac and cheese, and I ordered the lobster bisque and ahi tuna tacos. The lobster bisque was good, but nothing I'd come back for, and I've certainly had better. Definitely NOT worth $11. My ahi tuna taco was highly disappointing. Couldn't taste much flavor from anything in the taco, and the sauce on top pretty much tasted like straight up Mayo. I didn't personally have the coconut shrimp or the Buffalo chicken wrap, but the person who had them said she didn't like them. She said the coconut shrimp was slightly better than the Buffalo chicken wrap, but she didn't finish either of them. I tasted a bite of the lobster grilled cheese that my daughter ordered and it was worse than my ahi tuna tacos, if that's even possible. How you screw up lobster is beyond me, but they have accomplished that. The lobster didn't have a lobster taste (don't ask me how that can be, but it didn't), I didn't taste anything buttery, or cheesy on this lobster grilled cheese. With tip, I paid over $80 on these 4 items, and left feeling my money was completely wasted, and left wishing I went somewhere else for dinner, and hoping none of us get sick from the food. My daughter had to go to the bathroom, from the outside it looks similar to a portapotty but she said it wasn't as "bad" as one. The view is just okay. It’s more of an inlet, not open ocean, that you are eating by. Upon leaving one of the workers (almost all seemed like kids on high school/college summer break) was horsing around with a fellow coworker, and was being very loud. We were just going to ignore the unprofessional behavior, and walk by. He, instead, when realizing customers were passing by him when he was screaming then stopped screaming and yelled "Have a good night!" and then laughed with his...
Read moreThe first time I went here was good, after that, it’s pretty much been downhill. Earlier this summer I was at Shanks and ordered lobster tacos, corn and clam chowder. When the worker went to serve me my food, he dropped it all on the ground. He lost the tacos and some of the chowder spilled out. He apologized and came back a few minutes later to replace the lobster tacos. Instead of replacing the clam chowder which had partially spilled out, he didn’t say anything. Also, he didn’t clean up the mess on the ground. I was there with my dog so I was then trying to hold off my dog off from eating lobster tacos. She’s got a one track mind when it comes to ground scores.
I tried again. I went to shank’s the other night and it was a disaster.
We got there around 7 o’clock and didn’t receive our food until almost 8 PM. So we sat for almost an hour without any food from the time that we ordered at the counter. Finally, the food came out, and it was absolutely underwhelming. My girlfriend had ordered a side of chips which looked like they had been taken out out of the bottom of the fryer. Some of them were also soggy - and they were cold. The chips that came with my tacos were the same way but slightly better. We said something to the staff and they apologized and said we will come right back with more chips. It took at least 10 minutes and I brought back more chips that were cold, and also the cheese dip was cold as well. When we got our food, we also asked for napkins and utensils, and they never brought it back. My girlfriend ended up going inside and grabbing them herself.
All in all, we paid about $80 for a pretty crappy meal. I heard that there is new management and they need to get it together. Definitely not worth the money for cold chips and...
