Similan — Restaurant in Clinton

2nd time visiting this place and both times person in charge was arrogant. First time a few weeks ago, I arrived 30 minutes before closing time and got treated as if she was doing me a favor. She was the only person left and had to make the food herself. Maybe just lock the door and put closed sign? 2nd visit, this person had an attitude because I asked for a dish listed on the menu on their own website that's no longer offered. The menus at the restaurant are also outdated she mentioned and said she would have to order 20,000 menus. Is that the customer's problem? If you menu and especially the prices have changed, the customer has the right to know and not get lectured. I will be taking my business to another Thai establishment that knows how to talk to a customer. PS: The food is decent so it's a shame to have to feel this way. Similan is easily THE best restaurant in the area! Abundant parking, beautiful decor, the kindest staff, and not to mention the incredible food!

My most recent experience was truly wonderful. I came in for take out at exactly closing time without realizing it, thinking they closed later. The beautiful young lady who waited on me insisted on taking my order even though it meant they'd have to stay later. She was so incredibly nice to do that, I was very grateful! You won't find this level of hospitality anywhere else!

The food is BOMB. It's so good. Literally everything we had was delicious - I've tried a lot of Thai food, but Similan's is the best by far. The prices are super reasonable as well!

I went here for dinner and was disappointed. We got several different dishes and the seafood in all of them seemed to be on edge. Their sushi was sub par which makes me think maybe they should focus on their Thai cuisine instead having "fusion cuisine". The fish in the rolls was ground up, an indicator of poor quality. The flavor of the pad Thai was good with the exception of the seafood. And the crab rangoons DO NOT have crab like these reviews say. It is imitation crab.

Besides the food, the servers were very friendly, but the fish tanks looked kinda gross which bums out the atmosphere.
