This is the place for real Chinese food! My family came here, (including my Chinese in-laws) and it was the best Szechuan cuisine we've had in CT!
Once I got a taste of the twice cooked pork, shredded beef, and eggplant in garlic sauce, I ate like I'd been starved for a week! The food is simply exquisite, don't be afraid to try something you haven't had before.
I see some bad reviews saying "they don't make such and such like this other restaurant I go to". My advice is either stick with your average Chinese place, or come here and try some of the chef's actual specialties! If you get some of their authentic dishes you won't be disappointed, and you might never go back to the Americanized stuff. If you're still not ready for the exotic offerings, at least get the Chow Fun or Chow Mei Fun noodles. That being said I'm sure all of their food is great, I'd eat anything from here!
My in-laws couldn't have been happier with the food. The chef brought out our meal and they could tell from his accent: this guy is the real deal from Chengdu. The staff were also friendly and accommodating, even with my 2.5 year old son. We'll definitely be back next time we camp at Hammonasset, and...
Read moreWe were sat at a table with no plates or silverware. Took 15 minutes for anybody to come to the table. After ordering our food and drinks, half of our food came out, yet we had no silverware or drinks, but our waiter did not return. 10 minutes later we had asked for silverware and the rest of the food, never got our other wonton soup. My cocktail contained banana liquor in it which it did not say on the menu and I am allergic to bananas. So when I went to the bar to have them remake my beverage, the manager came over and basically accused me of lying saying they hadn’t made any drinks containing banana liquor all day, though half of their cocktail menu consists of drinks as such. That isn’t how you handle guest issues. You don’t accuse, you resolve. Needless to say I’ll stray away from ever coming back here again, as I will relay the...
