Culver’s — Restaurant in Clintonville

Twice this week while vacationing in Antigo we went to this Culver’s for ice cream after dinner. Time was around 8:30-9pm. Both times the staff was already midway through cleaning custard machines despite closing at 10p. This left us with very melted sundaes as the leftover custard was not being refrigerated. We thought the first time was random. It seems it’s normal. I find this unacceptable in August.

On another visit, I requested a gluten free bun with my hamburger. The one I received was not thawed thoroughly. I asked if they could heat it a bit more. The response I received was that then they couldn’t guarantee the GF status. I stated that was ok for me. They proceeded to toss my bun, heat another one, and this one was no better....something about the microwave popping the cellophane wrapper being the deciding factor. I can appreciate how staff were trained to be safe for celiacs, but when the customer says that celiac disease is not a problem, then staff should listen and do as the customer requests. This is especially true since they had no trouble selling me the platter with French fries fried in wheat contaminated oil and not making mention of it.

I feel like this review is a long time coming every single time that I go to Culver's in Clintonville my order is messed up. Today was another good example ordered a culvers deluxe and we got a burger with cheese and nothing else. It's not a big deal but this happens every single time so they took it back rip the burger apart slept an extra piece of cheese and everything else that comes on the deluxe and then told us that we were wrong that everything was already on it. The same time we ordered the burger I ordered three scoops of the flavor of the day which they didn't bring out until they brought out the wrong burger. Whoever delivered my food last was very rude and told us that we were wrong everything that they did was right and they might as well have thrown the bag in our car and walked off. Again this is not the first or second or third or fourth time this is...

My husband and I stopped in at this Culver's on our way home from Eagle River. We stopped for lunch and were greeted by Connor. He was very friendly and professional and took our order. Connor also delivered the order to our table and asked if there was anything else he could get us. He took the orders and delivered the orders including to waiting cars outside on a not so nice day. We both commented on what a great employee he was. Any employer would be lucky to have him. He's the perfect picture of great customer service and you could tell he enjoyed what he was doing. Whatever he's making....he deserves a raise! Nice job Connor! Thanks for making our day! Oh...and my grilled cheese sandwich and onion rings...
