Rookies Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Clive

Ordered from them tonight and got their "sirloin steak sandwich". By sandwich I mean they overcooked a tiny piece of sirloin that I asked for medium rare. It was completely unseasoned and just thrown on a piece of Texas toast. The other piece was cut in half so I'm not sure how they were expecting me to eat it like a sandwich.

Very disappointed and will not be eating there again.

Edit: Tried the baked beans and they were bland. No flavor at all.

Edit due to response: My wife and I were not in the restaurant and had our food delivered. I will admit after seeing the menu myself(my wife ordered the food) I did see that the cut was small and suppose to be served open-faced. However, the menu also says that the steak is marinated which it absolutely couldn't have been marinated for how dry and bland it was. There was maybe one end that was seasoned. On top of that(not really what I would call a big deal, but it was on the menu) the menu states that the steak is on Vienna bread which it's not. It's on Texas toast. That's not even a huge deal, but it's the fact that you say on your menu you use Vienna bread when you don't. If everything just wasn't so bland and tasteless I wouldn't have cared enough to even bother. Even the baked beans tasted like nothing. We were a party of 4 adults and 2 kids who came in to watch the Iowa State BB Game. We were seated and ordered. When we were almost done eating they told us they were moving us to 2 - 4 person tables, high bar tables, splitting our family. Reason being they had a party of 15 coming in and they needed our tables. Not 1 table had a reservation sign on it. They asked us if we were moving and I said no...I didn't want to . So we ended up leaving and missing the 2nd half of the Big 12 Championship game. We were ordering drinks from the bar before and after our food order. They made a lot of $$$$ from us before we left. I talked with the manager, sounds like it's just what they do, take a reservation and anticipate when another table will leave or move them if they don't leave. We left and won't return.

If you read on Rookies claims we were told before we were seated. WE WERE NOT TOLD THAT. I was told by the manager that they do not put up reserved signs and they estimate when customers may leave. Our son suggested we meet him for lunch at Rookies. When we pulled up and parked we were apprehensive. It was a typical strip mall sports bar. We ordered, me the Prime Rib Dip and my wife got the Reuben. Our son ordered a chicken wrap. OMG! The food was amazing and unlike most establishments it came with two sides included in the price. My wife loved her sandwich and it was obvious the corned beef is made onsight! My sandwich had plenty of meat and a rich, tasty au juice to dip. Our son loved his wrap.
