The Twist - Clyde — Restaurant in Clyde

They did a nice job remodeling the shop. The food is decent. The service was speedy. The drive thru is a nice addition to the shop. The menu is a bit far back from the window. The fenced in outdoor eating area is nice. There are tables and seats. The big thing that I noticed is the opening to walk is is right by the line for the cars to use the drive thru. I wish they had a pedestrian entrance where you walk up directly from the sidewalk and not through the parking lot. They have lines on the pavement so the cars know where to go. But not much room if you were in a wheelchair and going to the window to order. The selection of food non ice cream stuff was minimal. Would like to see something other than a hot dog. They had pulled pork sandwiches pictured on the website with a price. But not on the menu...

I stopped at The Twist yesterday for the first time since the new owners have taken over. I grew up in Clyde and the Twistee Treat was a hometown favorite. I remember how extensive the food menu was and we went for dinner only to find that only food items offered were hot dogs and pulled pork sandwiches. The original Twistee Treat had the best mozzarella sticks!

Upon looking at the menu, I got so excited to see Flier cookies listed. If you’re from Clyde, you know how nostalgic Flier cookies are! I was so excited that I got two! I was extremely disappointed. While they are good chocolate chip cookies, they are absolutely not Flier cookies. The owners should consider getting with the high school cafeteria ladies or re-naming the cookies. Next time I will definitely try...

2 My second review of this place with the new owners. Great place to get a dessert and just sit down and enjoy on the patio. The raspberry and pineapple twist was really Great and tasted fresh.. had this same twist a few weeks ago at a place in Fremont. This is better tasting then there's. And yes I do recommend this place. David had the butter finger twister and says it is really Great also. #1 with old owners... It was delicious I had the shredded chicken sandwich and a strawberry twist waffle cone. You get a lot of ice cream 🍦 for the money. Plus David had a chill dog and the same ice cream.
