My wife suggested we and our two children eat at Freez-Ett as a special treat after viewing the many tasty looking milkshakes and other goodies being shared on social media. Were provided a menu fairly promptly and after reviewing asked very specifically about the specialty shakes we had heard so much about as there was nothing listed on the menu, even pointing out the section labeled ''Milkshakes". My wife pointedly stated this was our first visit and inquired about the funnel cake shake seen on Facebook and if we needed to 'build' our shakes. Employee stated they were out of funnel cake and the shakes simply "came as they came". So, we ordered four milkshakes from provided menu and a foot long hot dog with everything; Butterfinger, peanut butter, hot fudge, and chocolate. Were then informed we could only order size Small. So, we then proceeded to wait for over an hour in 90+ degree heat. As we finally neared the building noted a sign beside the walk-up window titled "Specialty Shakes", so I asked employee who had taken our order why she had not told us about the specialty shakes when we had specifically asked and why they were not listed on menu we had received. She simply stated there was not enough room on menu and scurried off. Only stayed at this point because cars were directed in two lines and we could not leave. Finally received hot dog and waited at least another 15 minutes before our shakes arrived. Terribly disappointed to see four small, ordinary plastic cups featuring none of the unique toppings that had brought us there in the first place. Employee delivered the shakes, refused to even make eye contact, mumbled something and hurried away. Forced to wait another 15 or so minutes before able to leave due to being blocked in due to the method used to handle customer traffic. So, our experience...2 hours waiting in 90+ degree weather for a mediocre hot dog and overpriced, though admittedly decent tasting, milkshakes when we could have went two minutes from home to EJ's Dairy Bar rather than driving 30 minutes for a huge disappointment. So much for a special treat for the family, doubt very much will...
Read moreOkay. If you have to explain. How to make a milkshake. At a milkshake place. Something is wrong! My milkshake was not good the first time. And was better the second time. But still fell short of what should have been a great Shake. Was really disappointed. The place on the outside really looks great. And so does the inside. It was disappointing to see the hand dipped ice cream containers all of them empty. I ordered a shake and a veal. Or a Texas Tea or whatever they called it. I call it. Nasty! It was floppy and flimsy. Like it had been bathed in old Greece and left to get cold. I had tried the footlong also. So not impressed at all. I probably should mention the employees. My young lady helping me. Done her very best to make everything right. And I do believe in second chances. But I have to be honest. I am not looking forward to this second chance. Stay tuned! Don't forget to ask your waiter or waitress. What tips stand for? I hope...
Read moreI was curious to try this establishment after seeing it reviewed about a year ago to rave reviews. My expectations were high, unfortunately, after having come in this weekend to try it for myself, they were lowered right away. The highlight was the footlong dog which was very flavorful with their unique coney sauce. The burger was a disappointment as the meat tasted rubbery as though it were frozen and reheated and the bun tasted stale. I also had one of their sundaes with soft serve. I think Dairy Queen would've been a better choice with the latter two in my humble opinion. I will say the staff was friendly and the surroundings were bright ,colorful, and cheerful strewn with banners and flags which put me in mind of being at a carnival...
