Found this spot after gem mining. I was hectic about it at first because it looks like a beat up place from the outside. When walking in, all you see is old tables and chairs, the cartons of the sodas, and big fans. When ordering is like you are ordering from those taco stands in the streets. Don't be fooled about what I just wrote because what matters is how good the tacos were. I tried the carne asada, cabeza, lengua, and tripas, and to me they were sooo good. They had flavor and the tacos were full of meat. I normally eat 4 tacos. So I ordered 4 and was only able to eat 2 because how big they were. This is my go to place when traveling on the I-5, since it's only a 10 mile detour from the highway. Plus they are open for 24 hours every day.

We live in a time of great distrust, false advertising, and manipulative marketing tactics designed to the detriment of the consumer. Amidst all this uncertainty, tucked away in plain sight on a double lane main street like any other, is a beacon of hope or as the locals call it Tres Agaves Taqueria. I came in for a torta and I left with a testimony. It wasn’t that the torta was the best I’ve ever had, or that this place is a VIBBBBE, it’s that this taqueria is hands down exactly what you need…..you just don’t know it yet.

Haven’t had my tacos wrapped like that before. Thought it was going to be a disastrous mess in the pickup, but I managed to not destroy the cab. I had lengua, cabeza and barbacoa all on corn tortillas. I’d probably pass on the cabeza next time, but the other two were fantastic. No sauce needed. Portions wise? I’d have done better to just eat two tacos. My belly hurt when I was done even though it was so happy. Service was a bit awkward, but that doesn’t ruin a good taco!

Food is good, and consistent here. The salsa is very hot, for me too hot, but soooooo good. Be warned if you are wimpy like me. This place is usually always busy, so the food is turned over often. This is great because it's a 24 hour place and I worry about the age of the food when I go into a place. They have added to their menu, and the newest additions look appetizing. The only time they are closed is Christmas eve through Christmas night. They reopen pretty quickly though. COVID: Lines can appear longer than usual due to social distancing. One person at a time at counter so be patient. It appeared 2-3 tables inside available to eat in if needed. A...

I'm randomly in town for the night. I'm hungry and it's late, I see this highly rated, local taqueria, open 24 hours? Wha?

Definitely local, yet welcoming place, authentic as it gets. They were bringing out fresh grilled lengua when I walked in. I opted for the grilled chicken. Got a regular burrito (with a LOT of meat), soda, and pan dulce for less than a McCrappy meal. Everything tasted good, not amazing but extra star for no montezuma revenge the next day.

Wheather you're in the area, or passing by on the freeway, take the time to support this locally...
