I don’t recommend the Macaron making class. The class description indicated some information on what to expect and the class did not live up to that description. I did reach out to the owner with my concerns before writing the review but she did not offer any resolution just excuses. First of all, the class met from 10-2 and it didn’t mention that there is a break where I would have to pick up my daughter. I only found out the day before because I asked if there was a lunch break.
After the class was over, we were supposed to receive a packet of recipes. We did not receive a packet. They emailed some recipe info a day or so later but it didn’t even include all fillings used.
They advertised that each participant would make their own batch of macarons and bring home 15. That is not what happened. My daughter had to work with a partner and take turns doing the prep. Then she brought home 9 and her partner brought home 10. She said the most anyone in the class brought home was 12. For $100 class, this was very disappointing.
They advertised that they would be making fun and unique flavors. They made chocolate, vanilla and rose? Really? Chocolate and vanilla are not fun and unique. Then they didn’t even include the recipe for all of those flavors in the email.
I think the owner needs to stop falsely advertising this class and make the details in the description match the experience. It was a very disappointing experience especially for as expensive as it was. The owner’s response was even more disappointing where she made excuses and accused my daughter of eating the macarons on site which was untrue.
I’d recommend looking up a YouTube video rather than going to this in person class. The macarons they made were also not good and were the worst macarons...
Read more0/5 stars. Boston Bonbon has been extremely unprofessional the past 3 months we’ve been trying to work with them to set up an order for favors for our wedding. Emails are not answered in any kind of timely manner and the phone number listed on the website goes straight to voicemail and phone calls are never returned. The bakery has known our wedding date and number of favors for 3 months. When trying to solidify a pick up for our order for 2 days before our wedding, suddenly it was as if I was throwing something on the bakery last second and they couldn’t accommodate our order so they “politely declined our business”. They expected that the date I told them for our wedding date was the exact date for pickup. What crazy person has time the day of their wedding to go pick up favors? Advertising that they do wedding favors they should have known pickup would most likely be a few days before the wedding date. Thankfully we were able to call another bakery 5 days before our wedding and they set up an order (for even less $$) no problem and no questions asked! I only recommend going with Boston Bonbon if you want added stress the week of...
Read moreI found Boston Bonbon online (I live out of state) and placed an order as a "pick me up" gift for my sister who lives in the Boston area. I immediately received a personal email from the owner notifying me that the production as well as shipping would be delayed due to the Covid crisis, but that they would work as quickly as possible to get the order out (she knew I wanted to get these to my sister sooner rather than later). I gave the go-ahead to proceed. I checked in a week later and received another prompt response from the owner letting me know that they were still behind, but that my order would be shipped soon, which it was. My sister said the macarons were fresh, beautiful, and delicious.
I would not hesitate to order from here again, and I only wish that customer service was this...
