I live about 30 miles away and we happened to be in Coleman so we stopped in to check this place out. We had seen the Robert Irvine show and were curious. We were greeted immediately upon opening the door and told to pick any table. Our server was excellent! She must’ve stopped by the Table at least eight times to make sure we were doing great. We both ordered the bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, pickles and assorted condiments. The burger was delicious and the lettuce crispy, onions were crunchy and fresh and the pickles were tasty! The French fries were perfect. They give you a LOT of fries. For $13 that was a great deal! We both ordered iced tea. It tasted mellow just like sun tea but we confirmed with them that it is rude overnight and not sun tea. We also ordered the deep fried portobello mushrooms. These were smaller pieces and I actually liked that because when mushrooms are deep-fried, they get extremely hot and there’s a lot of liquid trapped in them. This way the breading doesn’t get soggy before you can eat it! Yummy and crunchy with a ranch dip. I didn’t really prefer the ranch dip with the mushrooms, but I ate it anyway. Still delish. I would definitely come back here. FYI unless you are starving you probably can’t eat both the meal and an appetizer. I...
Read moreAlthough since I've been here twice, ordered the same meal, both were made different it was still good! The sausage used was different, 2nd time she didn't ask what type of toast I wanted, just gave me white. I was looking forward to the sourdough I had last time, because it was great. I didn't think to mention it till my meal got there, I realized it was white. I figured oh well, I'll eat it. I'm glad I did, it was great too!
First trip I took my Mom, Sister and Niece. They all loved their meals, my Niece has been talking about saving money to go get the mozzarella sticks again. I bought her some when I went back. She was happy.
We seen this place on Restaurant Impossible, and although we've often feared visiting places on there, because of the things they showed, we figured this one wasn't bad, we go by Coleman often, and wanted to stop sometime. I'm all for helping little Mom and Pop places, and LOVED her story. I'm so glad we went. Only bad thing, it isn't open longer hours, we often miss the closing time up or down state. We'll certainly go back. Highly...
Read moreStopped here for breakfast on a bike ride from Midland. It was about 10:30 on a Sunday morning and it was pretty quiet.
Can't say the food is anything to write home about but it is good. Eggs, hash browns, French toast and sausage, all pretty much standard. I would have preferred the hash browns to be a little more crispy but the rest was cooked to order. Prices are reasonable for the portion sizes too.
Service however was very good. Our server was friendly and kept the coffee filled. When I was deciding whether or not to order hash browns she suggested the half order (which I did).
Outside looks like a home and inside is nicely decorated with old farm tools. Tables are a little close but didn't interfere with anyone's table conversation.
If you're in the area and need breakfast Leah's is a nice...
