Cocina Hernandez — Restaurant in Colfax

We were in town for the llama show and walked in and there were no workers to seat us. We had to walk up to the register/kitchen to ask if we were supposed to seat ourselves. Then about 5 minutes later the lady brought us menus and there was dried food stuck to them. She asked if we wanted guacamole with our chips (we said yes) but that wasn’t brought to our table until about 15 minutes later when we were done with our chips. In that time she got our drink orders in but those didn't come for another 15 minutes and the margarita tasted like it had zero tequila in it- and the strawberry tasted generic. While we were waiting for our food, we noticed a dead fly and 2 eyelashes on our table. Good thing we made one wish the food was coming soon and one wish they’d have to-go margaritas (stay tuned to see if either came true)! When the food came 40 minutes later (first failed wish), it was a solid 3/10. I got 3 cheese and onion enchiladas and the cheese looked like it went straight from bag to tortilla, as it was not melted at all. Good thing my second wish came true as I enjoyed a tasteless margarita later that evening in my local motel. In case you didn’t figure it out, the eye lashes did not...

I hate to leave a one star review but there have been far too many times where our order is never consistent. Tonight I ordered grilled chicken nachos and when my husband went to pick our order up, the staff was rude and just stood in the back chatting while the food sat. He ended up having to go back there to get their attention and the food was cold once he returned home, the chips were so stale that they didn't even have much of a crunch to them, hardly had any cheese and they didn't provide the queso that we ordered as well. We love to order local and do quite often from this place trying to always give it another try, but our orders are never consistent and lack the quality that we...

They are untrustworthy at the least, and I'd guess its an act of fraud or false advertisement? We had an unexpected charge on our bill. When we sought to correct it, it was explained to us the menu item had changed $amounts since they moved (over a year ago, probably closer to two) but the owner had not updated the menus yet. Didn't explain why the staff didn't tell us when we had ordered either. Considering we were the only customers at the time, the same person who took our order and cashed us out bears...
