Trackside Kolache & Pizzarama — Restaurant in College Station

So first off, where I’m from, we come nowhere near to how you pronounce it down here…what’s with the long eeeee sound? But no matter how you deliver it, Trackside delivers the goods! Now my upbringing had kolach made on a baking sheet, so more middle pieces with end to edge filling, though the adults always claimed that the edges are better, but I digress. Johanne, one of the owners confessed no Czech heritage, but that her love for baking, and trial and error, led her to what she now serves, and let me tell you, she succeeded. The dough is light, fluffy, and just the right sweetness. This is the stuff of clouds! And the fillings, OMG, I mean even prune, and of course makova napln! Came here for the first time and we love it. They have a simple selection of baked goods. We ordered a bunch of jalapeño sausage and cheese, regular sausage and cheese, Boudin, strawberry cream cheese, and cream cheese. They were all delicious except the Boudin, it was ok. I had a Kolache somewhere else and I thought the normal was a sausage sliced in half, but this place gives you the whole sausage. The ration might be a little leaning on the meat heavy side, but thats how my kids and I like it.

This place is awesome and their new location makes it more convenient for people who live near campus being on Holleman. The new restaurant is new and clean but could use a little more interior decor. This place has already been well regarded in the community for their kolaches and they are good, but I wanted to shout out their new pizza menu. For the money and the taste this pizza is excellent and the service is courteous and fast. This is not meant as an insult in the slightest but I would measure this pizza up to Sam's Club or Costco but with far better quality and ingredients. People need to check out this pizza because it has spared me from ordering from little ceasars...
