For the most part the customer service has always been great thanks to the young lady that always takes care of our order. ( sorry for this review this not towards you ). But today we had some friends come from Dallas so I asked my gf to stop so that they could try out some good breakfast tacos and menudo. ( We are frequent customers we never have any issues. We also bring our friends and family in there). Today was different story we were missing a few tacos so while my family ate I jumped back in the truck to pick them up thinking maybe they didn’t give us the bag or whatever. No big deal I wasn’t upset or bothered we live less than a mile away. On the way there I call and explained that we were missing tacos I didn’t know if it was two or three we didn’t have the itemized ticked but she did mention that it showed it was two not three. So I said yeah that’s fine I’m in my way up there. While the young lady that always helps is trying to figure out what happened I hear a few voices in the background basically saying that we were lying and being very rude. The young lady that helps us was nice enough to tell what I’m assuming is her older sister to be quiet that I could probably hear them over the phone. She was correct I could ! I went I get to the store she hands me the tacos I explained to her that I heard the conversation and that I was not happy about the comments that were being made . That I also heard the manager or whatever positions she holds say that she didn’t care if could hear her or not. So I mentioned that I don’t appreciate being treated that way after being a loyal customer. That I always encourage people to go there, we never cause a problem and that we always leave a tip to thank the servers. I went ahead and paid for the two tacos anyway (again) with a 20 and left the change . I mentioned that I didn’t need any free food and that I wasn’t try to cheat them out of two tacos. Not a good experience today. The funny thing is that they didn’t know who i was over the phone but I could tell by the look of their faces that they recognized me when I walked in.Either way not the way you treat...
Read moreMy family and I have visited this establishment twice now. We haven't come for the breakfast and/or buffet that obviously exists, just for the Mexican food.
Both times, my wife and I thought it was fairly good. We both (actually, three of us agreed) thought the refried beans could use a little more spice (salting fixed that) and I personally think their salsa could have a little more kick to it.
This time my son got a bean and cheese taco, as last time he has an incident because he felt there were too many vegetables in his taco meat (it doesn't take much, we seem to be in a 'vegetables are bad' phase here at 5, and he can spot them like an eagle spots their prey while flying a mile up...) - and he ate everything. Which is impressive as those are some large soft tacos.
Which is where my daughter made her mistake - she wanted the regular (adult) taco plate, two soft tacos (not three crunch) and after it arrived - it was easy to see why the reduction in number happened, as the quantity of food was likely the same. She could only finish one, but finish that one she did.
My wife and I had the chalupa plate. I enjoyed them, I love it when the vegetables are still cool and fresh tasting while the meat+beans are nice and warm. Even though the tortilla she'll started to get soggy, it held together and still provided a satisfactory crunch as the meal progressed.
The service was good and our children were treated well, even though they (the kids) could be a bit chatty and asked for things they wanted and gave their opinions and stories openly (politely - they did say please and thank you - so I am proud of them for doing that without prompting!)
It's a little out of the way, but worth it for a nice Saturday...
Read moreUpdate: I still like the girls that work here but the food and service are hit or miss. Sometimes the drinks are provided right away, others we wait for a long time (even when it isn't busy). The food must just depend on who's cooking. We've always enjoyed the breakfast but the list time we went only half the food was edible. Last time Iwas in the cashier complained about people arriving an hour and a half before closing because she was wanting to go home early as I was paying my bill. I was disappointed that was said in front of a customer.
This is our go to place for brunch and any time we get a Tex Mex craving. The staff is very sweet. Walk in and...
