Ward's Restaurant — Restaurant in Collins

For some reason I had never had an opportunity to experience this gem of a location for a meal. I am currently staying at a nearby campground, when I was struck with a serious case of the munchies. Thanks to Ward's food, amazing staff, and good pricing, those munchies quickly left! The burger I got was more than enough for me, and the fries had just the right level of salt on them to add flavor, but not overpower the senses. The person at the drive thru window was super friendly, and helpful, with the short time that I was there for my food, which came out quite quickly. I went through the drive through. I ordered the little one chili cheese burger, sweet potato fries and a small root beer. It was very difficult to hear the attendant, but he responded with "was that a sweet tea?" I said no, "A small root beer." He said "Do you want the combo?" I said yes. When I got my food, it was incorrect with the receipt showing a combo with regular fries and sweet tea. I reported the error to the manager and told her how difficult it was to hear the attendant. She said she has reported the problems with corporate and they have been out several times to check the speaker. She said that they keep telling her that there is nothing wrong. 0 Stars. Staff looked disappointed to see customers. Order was slow for everyone in the store. Order wasn't took correct. Food wasn't correct. Staff basically accused us of trying to get free food when we tried to correct our order. Manager argued with me the entire time about order. She would not fix the order without charging me extra to do so. We eventually tossed the entire $45 breakfast in the trash and left. Tried to take my family to breakfast only to hear you complaining about being behind on your payroll and not accepting responsibility for a minor mistake on a $45 food order.
