Great karaoke 3 out of 4 Fridays. Last Friday of month they have a trivia guy who also tries to do karaoke, but doesn't understand the equipment. Shannon is much better. Pretty standard menu, nothing "exciting" or "daring" on it, but it is a bar after all. Usually some pretty good drink specials, and there are a lot of pool tables. Probably one of my favorite bars in the area, four stars because there is room for improvement. Editing this review and lowering it. I am not removing my original comments.
This restaurant is defrauding customers. This is either through arrogance, incompetence or actual malevolence.
They post a policy of pre-charging your card for $25 if you "open a tab" which first and foremost is stupid because opening a tab means you're more likely to spend more money, which is to the benefit of the restaurant. So discouraging people from opening a tab encourages them to spend less money and therefore lose Revenue.
Be that as it may, 2 weeks ago they ran a friend of mine's Card 3 times for the $25 deposit, which then left her bank account too short to actually pay the tab, which was around $50.
The management of this restaurant has inferred that my friend is lying, even though my friend offered to let the bar manager see her bank balance and see the three different transactions, however she refused to look at it stating that the charges just go away.
Fast forward to November 17th, and I run up a bill for $54 and change..
My card is Run for the $25, and then $62.81 (not 54)
So between my friend and I this restaurant has pocketed over $100 in fraudulent charges.
Additionally my friend 2 weeks ago was told that when she comes back she will have to be a cash-only customer.
I brought my friend and I paid for her drinks... she was on my tab on my credit card. My friend was asked to leave by force, she's a 5'4" woman who was made to leave by a 6'2 bouncer.
None of us were intoxicated. We were all eating actual food and my friend had one glass of wine, so it wasn't as if we were belligerent drunks.
Even though my friend had already gone back into the restaurant a few days after this and settled her bill with the waitress, she was approached aggressively stating that she had never settled up. Remember $75 is missing from her bank account and her entire bill was only 50.
My bill was $54 yet they've pocketed 87 and change...
I can prove this, I have the screenshots.
So I would think twice about choosing to patronize this place.
This is an addition to the fact that part of the reason why her bill was so high 2 weeks ago was that she was overcharged for extra drinks that she never ordered, which, when we raise this issue, it was completely ignored.
I have been going to this bar for months. I was actually brought here by my friend. my friend is 26 years old and has been going there since it has been legal.
I have had multiple times where I've actually had to remind them that there was food that I/we purchased that they didn't charge us for. I've also had to tell them to take drinks off of our tab that we didn't order, multiple times.
But the manager insists that their system is Flawless and it's not possible for someone to bill Something to a tab by accident.
As anyone who's ever been to a bar knows, mistakes happen. especially in a highly busy bar/restaurant that has loud karaoke music (Although we still love Shannon and the karaoke).. but when you have 2-3 people waiting a table, multiple different registers that all have access to your tab simultaneously, it's very easy to make a mistake. I've literally watched one of the waiters put the same food order in three times on my tab before.
But mistakes can be made, and that's acceptable. However.... how you handle a mistake, with an accusation, a series of lies, and the kicking out a petite woman by a big bouncer is not...
Read moreAs a new resident in the area, I thought I'd swing by and try it out. Upon sitting at the bar, the bartender (and also the manager I learned later) advised me that the kitchen was partially down due to vent-hood issues and only salads & pizzas were available. While not too happy about that, I was really hungry and wanted to order food so I ordered a pizza. After sitting for a long time and seeing pizzas coming out, I asked my bartender how much longer as I was starting to run out of time. She told me it was only minutes away. After a bit, I heard her advising she was still waiting on the pizza and it was the first order she'd put in. I then was advised that my food was given away to someone else and they would have to remake it. By this time, it was late and I'd been waiting a long time. I elected to leave. I paid my tab and left - calling to speak to the manager as I did. Turns out my bartender was also the manager. She advised me she'd comped me a beer to make up for it (never mentioning that - I just assumed that the 3.50 tab was a happy hour special). She apologized for the experience, but I can't get my hour and a half back - and it's worth a lot more than the 3.50 beer. With the bar having two issues - first the kitchen being down and then screwing up the order, as a hospitality manager, I'd not only apologized, but I'd either comped the entire ticket or even better, especially once I knew the client was really unhappy, invited them back to enjoy a meal on the bar's tab to demonstrate the bar really can deliver a good experience. Based on this visit, I'd advise folks to not visit the place as it is clear they seem to have equipment issues in the kitchen and they certainly do not have their stations numbered so the food deliverers know where food should properly go. And if you have an issue, don't count on the bar...
Read moreIf I could leave zero Stars, I would. I live in this neighborhood and so I often frequent The Mirage, and honestly I have never really liked it. I've always believed the service was terrible, it takes forever to get a drink, and nobody even smiles at you when you walk in or for that matter even greets you. So coming in tonight, my hopes were not that high but all my friends were hanging out here so that's why I came, first of all I put my order in at 8 for food, it didn't get to me until 10, and my waitress kept making excuses that they had to thaw my chicken wings.... Because that's a thing apparently. And so she told me because I had to wait so long she would pay for my drinks. Well my food finally came out and she dropped half of it! Come to find out she dropped half of it and quit her job! So then the bar manager later comes over to me and tells me that she took care of my food... But I have to pay the rest of my tab. Excuse me?? So I left tonight because I literally just wanted to leave the establishment I did not want to stay there another second, and I paid my tab except for the food, and I shouldn't have paid a single dime. I will never set foot into this establishment ever again, I am so disappointed in Roxy, the bar manager for not stepping up and taking care of this issue when it was her job to take care of it. And thank God mikenna my waitress quit tonight because I wouldn't wish that upon any other Patron walking into that restaurant. I am still in awe and disbelief at how terrible of service I got tonight. If you have other options for dining out or getting drinks I would take those other options, I really wish that I just went to the North Shore tonight instead.. at least I would have gotten...
