Ordered from the Tamale Kitchen on Timberline and my husband found a large chunk of glittery acrylic nail in his beans... that were in his mouth... We called them and were told that none of their workers have acrylic nails. After explaining that apparently the magic acrylic nail fairy came and put it their beans, we were told that our order didnt have beans (we provided our order number and most definitely had beans). After they FINALLY decided that we did get beans, we were told that since they are a franchise and get their food from the main "Tamale Kitchen" they can't control the beans. In other words, not their problem. We then had to call the Tamale Kitchen that prepares all the food and went through three people before being told that they will only refund our money if we drive to Mississippi, which is ridiculous and we refused to do. We were then told that they would call the Tamale Kitchen on Timberline and ask that they refund our money. Guess how that went! After arguing with them they said they would only refund the one plate and that they won't do it until tomorrow. We were promised that the mail kitchen would contact the franchise we attended and notified them. Called in the morning and not only were they not notified, but we were told that it was our fingernail! What??? We are now contesting with the credit card company. They refused to take responsibility for their workers not wearing gloves and for potentially causing some serious damage. The workers were incredibly rude and did not once apologize or show any kind of concern. Do not go here, they do not follow health codes and their food isn't that good anyway.

I came in to have a meal to go. I ordered tamales and 2 different burritos. It was a simple order, nothing out of the ordinary. It wasn't busy and not the peak rush hour. I got home and found the 2 burritos were not made correctly, so i immediately returned to have them fix or made better. I got there and showed the manager (who let me know she was the manager) and asked if it could be corrected. She very quickly caught an attitude and said it would be more if I wanted it to be corrected. Simple fix, they didn't much in the burritos except potatoes. She was rude. Short with me and showed no compassion after ordering a $30 meal and leaving a tip for take out. No refund was offered. no offer for a different item to be exchanged. She was just rude, and really nit a friendly person. I sat in here and wrote my review then asked her if she was an owner ir a manger, she she looked me in the eye and said "I'm the manager. Why?" I told her I was writing a review and wanted to know what her role was. She said, ok, fine. I'm the manager. " Customer service - zero stars Food quality - 2.5 stars Atmosphere - 3 stars Willingness to be a decent and compassionate human being - zero stars This is a top-down problem. When a manager can't even make customer service a priority or e en care enough to guard your reputation as a busibess, why even bother trying to stay open? What a completely disappointing experience and total waste of money.

This is my go to breakfast burrito shop since I was a child and the flavor still carries today. THE BURRITO: I have literally been going to this place since I was in highschool. It's been a long time and everytime I take a bite into the egg potato bacon special, it's like I'm tasting it for the first time, every time. The special sauce is just so delicious, it's everything you could ask for in a burrito. Warm, delicious, cheesy, and perfectly seasoned to make the rest of the ingredients pop. THE SIMPLICITY: This place doesn't have to do anything fancy to achieve the greatmess that they have. They take what is there and make it their own. There is nothing more I could ask for than the egg potato bacon. Please stay open. You guys are seriously one of the greatest things I look forward to in terms of restaurants and I hope you never go. Keep it up!

i wish there was a way to give ZERO STARS for my recent visit. As a business owner myself, I always strive to make sure that we gives our clients top notch service every time. Tamale Kitchen has completely forgotten how to offer quality food, service and order accuracy. Walked into restaurant and was immediately met by signs that said they were out of water cups (sign looked VERY old), "Please check your order BEFORE leaving restaurant." Seriously, why do I have to double check my order when the receipt and subsequent pick ticket shows exactly what I ordered??? Stood in front of counter for a few minutes waiting while 5 workers just ignored me. I had stopped looking at the menu within about 30 second since we had looked at online menu before entering location. (Even a "Hello, welcome to Tamale Kitchen, we will be right with you" would have sufficed). Finally received my order and tried to confirm my order by counting the styrofoam containers. I counted the correct amount based on multiple order of tacos and tamales. (Lets just say, a lot of tamales and tacos were missing!!, as they had only put 1 taco per container, not the 2 or 4 per type that i had ordered). They offer Hard shell and Soft Taco options, so we had ordered a few of each. We could not tell if we even received any hard shell versions as every taco had tortillas that would disintegrate as soon as you grabbed a taco. FYI a hard shell is just a fried tortilla so as to alleviate the whole issue of cheap tortillas. When I was finally able to see and taste the taco meat, i was horrified to see steak, chicken and pork that looked like it came from a dog or cat food can!! Having never tried dog or cat food, I can only imagine that Tamale Kitchen has replicated that taste and texture since their was no seasoning whatsoever!! Taco meat should be marinated before its even cooked. Obviously this is not common practice for them. As i had already spent the money on the food, I still tried to eat it. After a few bites I had to go the kitchen and add spices for some sort of flavor, which didn't fix the texture and aforementioned crumbling tortillas. After finally finishing our meal, we both decide that we need to at least get a refund for the nonexistent tacos that we didn't receive. After multiples calls with no pickup, I was going to go back to the location and explain the my incorrect order.

I instead I decided that my $15 worth food would be better spent on helping a future taco connoisseur from ever wasting a dime on this poor excuse for a restaurant, How this place has 4.2 stars is beyond me. Del Taco or Taco Bell at least have food that has been marinated and has some sort of seasoning!!!

For the business owner: Its time to go back to training on the basics, like how to cook palatable food, how to be kind and offer expeditious service and teaching reading comprehension for your staff to actually read the...
