Cracker Barrel remains Consistent for Comfort Food!
Mid-Week, post-work dinner for a group of four brought us to Cracker Barrel.
We were pleasantly surprised to see Mimosa and Beer offerings on the menu, which is a nice treat for the over 21 crowd.
Our group stuck with waters, iced tea and soda.
One on our group elected to go for the Breakfast All Day approach by ordering Grandma's Sampler French Toast Breakfast. This dish comes with four pieces of Sourdough bread, two eggs (any style), a sampling of Bacon, Sausage and Ham plus the choice of a breakfast side and the famous warm syrup. All delicious, with the French Toast delivering every bit of sweet satisfaction.
Next was the Homestyle Chicken with two boneless chicken breasts breaded and deep fried as the center piece and two sides. In this order, a side of delicious dumplings - if you haven't trued, please do so - and corn. Finished with a buttermilk biscuit.
The third order was the 1-Piece Catfish platter with a fried Catfish fillet, tartar sauce and a choice of two sides and a corn muffin. Sides ordered were baked mac and cheese and turnip greens - perfectly matched this dish with some hot sauce on the greens. This catfish would give a fish fry shack a little competition.
Final order was the classic got-to Chicken Tender platter. this platter had Cracker barrel's hand-breaded and fried chicken tenders and in this order, honey mustard and two country sides which were mashed potatoes and the white gravy and green beans and a buttermilk biscuit. Absolutely delicious.
We left no room for dessert, but plenty of time to walk through the store and look at the variety of offerings in the candy, soda and small toy categories.
If you are local or out-of-town, and are looking for food that is dependably delicious, look at Cracker Barrel. Also, great...
Read moreWaitress ignored me. Served other people before me even tho I was first. After finally taking my order she appeared to be high on something speedy. She was all over the place but somehow doing nothing. And she even gave someone else my table when I went to look at the store, (which is something everyone does at Cracker Barrel, it's why you go) when I came back the man that was at the table next to me even said that he told her I was still sitting there. The waitress and her supervisor/assistant manager/ whatever she is, literally lied to me and said they searched the whole building and couldn't find me. I was in the middle of the store, not hiding, for only 5 minutes maybe. She then lied to me again and said it happened because they're too busy, I've been going to this place for a long time, I know what it looks like when it's busy, it was NOT busy by any means. The parking lot was half empty. This waitress was so high she couldn't remember that she sat me there. She had purple hair. If a girl with purple hair tries to serve you tell her you need to see the manager first. The real manager not her lying supervisor. This waitress was running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Acting like she didn't even know where she was. I asked for the manager and she offered me a free meal but I was so infuriated I just left before I caused a scene. Even the other customers where shocked by the way I was treated and tried to speak up for me and all of them where ignored by the staff. I'm not sure I'll ever come back. If I do I'm not going to be nice unless they fired some people.i can't tell you if the food was good because I didn't get to eat it!!! It was like they wanted me...
Read moreI can’t adequately describe how horrible this place is. I stopped there to eat with my elderly, disabled mom. I asked the guy who was seating us if we could get a table close by since it was so hard for my mom to walk. He said that part of the dining area was closed but he would see what he could do. He went back to ask management if they could accommodate us and they said no. He seated us in the middle of the restaurant which was hard for my mom. A few minutes later they seated two non-handicapped couples in the area they couldn’t seat my mom in.
Our waitress was nowhere to be found. Tables had not been cleared off. The guy in front of us had to yell for someone to bring his ticket so he could leave. Waitress finally came out and took our order. I asked for the whitefish listed on the menu but they no longer carry it so I ordered the lemon pepper trout. My mom ordered catfish. The orders were put in at the same time.
Our food finally arrives, minus the appetizer we ordered but she forgot to put in. Mom’s food was good and hot. Her only complaint was the coleslaw didn’t have any mayo in it. It was dry cabbage basically.
My food on the other hand was horrible. My fries and fish were both cold and the fish was like eating a thin piece of rubber. Two bites and I told her to take it and I wanted it removed from my bill. She had to get a manager to approve this and it took forever.
In most restaurants if you have an issue the manager will come talk to you. Not this one. They simply didn’t care. If anything, it made them angry because I wanted the meal removed from my ticket. I highly recommend passing this place on by regardless of how...
