This location has been a tremendous spot to grab food after my 9 hour grave shift where my employer treats me more like property than a person.
I usually come in sit down at the bar and enjoy a hot meal before passing out and disssapearing from the world for a few hours, the food, service, and atmosphere are usually unparalleled, a true delight.
However; this morning, little did I know I would encounter the worst staff at this location I have yet to encounter. If regaling this epic isn't enough for the management of the location to change its personnel, then I will forfeit my patronage to said location.
When I entered this morning on the 19th of August around 01:45am, I sat down at the bar, I was greeted by this stern and extremely curt "we are only doing take out orders!", now I'm not opposed to taking my food to go, but it seemed off, due to three other patrons already enjoying their meal.
"Not a problem I say", and the blonde that seems to be in charge, while washing dishes starts to berate another waitress to take my order, now if this other worker was just learning, fine by it, but all throughout my order being taken, the blonde washing the dishes was extremely off putting and unprofessional by constantly interrupting myself or the other worker taking my order.
After what seemed like 5 minutes of back and forth, the order had been taken, granted the entire exchange could have taken place inside of 2 or 3 minutes.
The next step of this farce happens. Two gentleman come in and the conversation they start with the blonde woman, is anything but uncouth, filled with profanity and obscenities, with which the blonde returns in kind to the two gentlemen, all about some $100 dollar bill.
The blonde procedes to take their order with kindness and compassion, something I haven't seen her have the entire time I've been sitting down.
While the blonde belts the order to the cook, my order comes ready to be purchased, nice and neat.
And here is where this entire show goes for another loop, I get my stub, which always comes with an order, no big deal. When I go to the register, I'm expecting the normal routine of paying for my meal, receiving it, and then being on my way.
You guessed it folks, that is far from what happened, the bill was re-tallied by the cook that was cashing me out, and I was informed that there was a take out up charge, that needed to be added to my bill. Now I know when something smells off, and this was the second red flag. But I'm on a mission to get the food I just purchased to my wife, and any of you who are married can attest to the adage: happy wife happy life. So I purchase my meal. Notice I haven't told you anything about me collecting it yet.
Because here is the third red flag, the other waitress the non-blonde one, was once again yelled at by guess who, to wrap my order up, and hand it to me. She was washing dishes at that moment.
Once she gathers my purchase and bags it, she pulls a tab booklet out of her apron, and begins to rattle off the order of someone else, as if I was to pay for something I didn't order, to which the cook and the blonde yell, "he's already payed!!!"
I finally get my food, which at this point been tossed and tumbled around like some dryer commercial. I proceed to my vehicle after leaving the premise. And two women sitting in a car both in unison say, "take out only huh!!", as if they experienced the same treatment.
I don't know what happened before I arrived, and lord help the state of mind of all of them. This was a serious black eye on my ability to come back, and if this is the status quo of the caliber of persons that are employed by this location, then the location should shut its doors indefinitely, for the lack of a Wafflehouse would be far greater than the schennagins along with the crude and unprofessional behavior I witnessed...
Read moreWould give zero stars if I could. We walked in and were told immediately by the server, Faith, that they would only be taking to-gos. We asked why and it was explained that “third shift was late and she wanted to leave on time”. We accepted that, sat down, placed a to-go order, waited, payed and left. Upon leaving we realized our food was horribly made (bacon burnt, eggs underdone, minimal ingredients used). We went in and asked for it to be remade. When asked, she scoffed and turned around. She then said “well now third shift is here so you can eat with her if you want” to which we did not respond. She then said “good talk” and walked away. Then we asked her name and she said “for what?”. We responded “just wondering” and she laughed in our faces. My boyfriend then told her that he has been a server for the last decade and has never given such rude service or experienced this kind of disrespect from a server. He said that we had come to have a nice dining experience. She then said “this is a Waffle House, if you want a nice dining experience go somewhere else” and repeatedly said we were “immature children.” During this entire conversation the manager, Richard, was in ear shot. He did not chime in until I had asked him directly if he was okay with an employee speaking to customers like that. He did not turn around once in corrective action and then defended his employee for her behavior by asking us to leave the establishment and immediately threatening to call the cops despite the situation being fairly calm. We complied and left but asked to be refunded. We were owed $17.50 and she tried to then give us $17. we asked for the .50 and she motioned a crying face with her hands and said “boohoo you want your .50?” in a baby voice and then basically threw it us. At this point Richard had came in and told her to stop her behavior. We will not...
