Don Tequila brings the vibrant flavor and culture of Mexico right to the North Side of the city. From the moment you walk through the large wooden doors and into the expansive dining room and bar, you are immersed in Mexican decor with colorful murals, piñatas hanging from the high ceilings, and festive sombreros adorning the walls.

The menu features classic Mexican dishes with local favorites like ceviche, quesadillas, fajitas, tacos and burritos. We started with chips and guacamole, which was fresh and chunky with the perfect balance of spice and seasoning. For our mains, we ordered the grilled fish tacos with shredded cabbage, pico de gallo and chipotle aioli along with chicken fajitas with grilled peppers, onions and tortillas. The tacos were perfectly charred and the fajitas were cooked to tenderness with a generous pool of flavorful fajita juice for dipping the warm tortillas.

The extensive drink menu offers 100 varieties of tequila as well as house specialties like the signature Don Margarita made with premium Patron and Sauza tequilas. Live entertainment on the weekends and large screen TVs scattered throughout keep the lively atmosphere every night of the week.

The service is warm and friendly, with staff taking time to ensure customers are having an authentic Mexican dining experience. First of all....Authentic they are Not! Everything is "Pre-made" nothing is cooked to order, but with the wait time you would never know! I tried to order a Mango Margarita, however I like mine made with only Jose Cuervo, the waiter says, Oh no...I'm sorry, but all our Margaritas are "Pre-Made"! I turn and look at the "Full Bar" & say hmmmm that's interesting & very disappointing! I ordered a Carne Asada Torta, the bread was crunchy and the Carne Asada mixture was scooped onto the middle of the bread so I had portions of no meat...just bread. And to top it off my plate I was served curly fries?! At a Mexican Restaurant??? Not very Authentic? My husband ordered a fish dish, yes his order came with curly fries as well...and his fish was extremely dry! He couldn't even eat it...he decided to pack it up and take it home?! He steamed it the next day & ate it all! Oh & the "Mexican non-alcoholic drinks" were not homemade! Surprise!!! To top it off there are no refills on the drinks!!! I will never go here again!!! Oh, I almost forgot...the check at the end took forever to get, then I waited for about 20 minutes to check out. No one was at the register!!!!! This was my first and LAST time, visiting Don Tequilas. I went with a friend a couple of weeks ago for lunch. We ordered drinks, and were eating lunch. In the middle of eating, roaches kept crawling from underneath the table.

Me & my friend called over our server, we told her what was happening. We also asked for the manager, she said he'll be right back. He went to the bank, I killed one roach when talking to her.

She went to grab a napkin from the napkin dispenser, on our table to clean up the roaches. More came out of it! She killed them and apologized, and offered us complimentary drinks. At this point me & my friend were disgusted and no longer hungry or thirsty.

Later in the day, I called Don Tequilas to see if the manager was back from the bank. He was and I told him about what happened. He said he has an exterminator that comes out weekly. He said they will TRY to fix the problem.

All I can say is NO...Zero stars for Don Tequilas and thinking, if roaches are crawling around at noon in the daylight. I can't imagine what's going on in the kitchen, or at night. Don Tequilas...no es bueno!🤢🤢🤮(...
