I’ll preface this by saying I was a big fan of Guy Fieri and was super excited to try this restaurant, if anything I went in for my visit overly optimistic, only to be let down epically.
My wife and I arrived 7 minutes before our reservation time. When somebody came to the front desk she took our name and with a rude tone said “okay come back in 10 minutes and we’ll get your table ready.” The dining room was practically empty behind her, and we thought we were being courteous by arriving an appropriate amount of time early. We should have taken this as a sign and left right then.
My party of two was seated in a weirdly cramped area of the dining room despite the open tables on other areas. It was a large, brightly lit, open area in the back with two-top tables spaced less than a foot apart. We were seated right between two of the only occupied tables in the whole restaurant, and were so close to the adjacent parties that everybody clearly felt uncomfortable. We were so close to the neighboring tables that the servers had to reach over my wife’s shoulder to set my dishes down because there was not enough room for them to pass between the tables.
The cleanliness of this restaurant was horrendous. My wife was served a drink in a dirty glass that had crusty food on the brim. We also had gnats and flies around us for the whole meal, and the tables on both sides of us were also swatting bugs away until they left.
Our meatball appetizer consisted of a cast iron pan with 6 dry, overcooked meatballs, a lot of marinara sauce, some dollops of bland ricotta cheese, and 3 skimpy crostinis. The meatballs were bad but sauce was fine. We felt like this dish should have come with more crostinis or some other bread to eat the sauce.
I ordered the pork chops, one of the more expensive menu items so I had high expectations. I spent $38 For two underwhelming pork chops that were EXTREMELY dry and overcooked. NO included side dishes, no bread, NOTHING! $38 for less than 8oz of overcooked pork chops! Pricing aside, these were the worst pork chops that I have ever had in a restaurant.
I also don’t think I have ever been to an “Italian” restaurant where you can easily spend $100 between two people, but don’t even get bread before your meal,
Our server Jordan was fine. Not her fault that the food, pricing, and atmosphere were so bad.
For over $100 for a meal for two (2 entrees, 1 app, 2 glasses of wine) we were extremely disappointed in both the quantity and quality of food! There are 1000 other restaurants in Columbus where your $100 would be better spent. Guy Fieri should be ashamed to put his name...
Read moreWe had a 6:30 reservation, but our food didn’t arrive until 8:30. While our server was friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout the evening, the overall experience was disappointing.
Cocktails & Drinks The drinks were good, and there were decent mocktail options, though you have to ask since they’re not listed on the menu. Our server was knowledgeable about wines, which was a nice touch.
Appetizers We started with garlic bread and the complimentary table bread. Both were enjoyable, with no complaints.
Salads The deli salad was a standout—it was huge and easily shared among four of us. However, the Caesar salad was underwhelming, barely big enough for one person.
Main Courses & Sides The main courses were disappointing. I ordered a $50 coffee rubbed filet mignon, expecting a premium cut of steak, but it arrived butterflied and only 1/4” thick—not at all worth the price. Texas Roadhouse offers a better steak at a way better price point. Pasta portions were decent for those who ordered them.
The sides were another issue. We initially ordered mashed potatoes after the server told us they might not be available, then said they were but our server later informed us after we had ordered them they weren’t available. Instead, we opted for two orders of truffle fries, but only one arrived. The truffle fries had potential but were excessively greasy. While the server offered to bring the second order they had forgotten, we declined. The Mac and cheese was delicious and probably the best thing I ate.
Overall Experience The total bill for six people, including gratuity, came to over $500. While we don’t mind paying more for a quality dining experience, the long wait, food execution, and value didn’t meet expectations.
The restaurant was busy, but not so much that a two-hour+ wait for food seemed reasonable. The table next to us, which sat down shortly after we did, still hadn’t been served by the time we were leaving.
While none of this reflects on our server—she was wonderful and did her best to make the experience pleasant—the overall service from the kitchen and quality of the food were not worth the cost. Unfortunately, we would not...
Read moreI rarely leave negative reviews but I was so disappointed with our first and only visit to this restaurant. We were eagerly awaiting its opening.
For starters, if you don't have a reservation they will point you to the bar for first come, first serve which was quite awkward considering the tables were 95% empty. We questioned this and the manager explained the process behind this decision and while it made sense from their side it wasn't a good look from the customers (us) view. It was Sunday, I'm sure the food you would have had to make would not have went to waste. Weekends are very busy at this Casino.
We sat at the bar. Drinks came quick and we're good.
We ordered the Primetime Meatballs for our appetizer, they came after our entrée arrived. The manager explained the person serving from the bar was in training and learning the process. They were removed from our bill. I'd like to add they were delicious!
My husband ordered Assassin's Spaghetti. It came out dry with burnt noodles. I have included a picture for reference. We brought this to the managers attention and were informed it was meant to be a "seared" type of Spaghetti. It does not say this on the menu. It wasn't edible.
I ordered the Angry Mussels and they were the star of the meal. Great taste and large portion. My only complaint is that I shouldn't have had to get the delicious sauce out of the bowl with half a mussel shell. In the future I suggest giving a spoon with this dish. I didn't ask for a spoon because by this point we were so disgusted with the experience we just wanted it to be over.
This restaurant has potential because it's not average Italian. Maybe everything we experienced could be growing pains.
I mention the manager alot because he was training the server at the bar where we had no choice but to sit. I did not ask for a manager every time something was wrong. The manager was great! Courteous and had a great sense of humor.
I doubt we will return.. We also listened to other customers since we were all forced to sit together and they were as...
