Irie Jamerican Cuisine — Restaurant in Columbus

The best Jamaican food in Columbus. Definitely a scary neighborhood...so order ahead and take it with you or talk to the owner and let him know what you think, Irie is his name and he does amazing work on a grill. If you want the seafood, order 30 minutes ahead.

Parking is almost non-existent. So park right in front of the driveway for pick-up. They were only taking cash when I stopped by, so I went to the N&N market 2 blocks up for cash at the ATM ($1 fee). I bought ox tail, goat curry, red snapper, plaintains and chicken curry. I also picked up Champagne Kola, Orange, and Grape drinks. To my disappointment, they had just run out of Jerk Chicken. We will definitely try that next time.

Irie is just simply THE BEST! Not just the food...the entire experience honestly! No point at all looking for other words or ways to describe. All i can say is if uv ever driven past and the lil green place left u hesitant, people don't let looks deceive u! If u'v not been ur deff missing one of columbus' VERY SPECIAL JEWELS! There's no other lil square box that will make u feel so welcome and serve u up a relevant portion of amazing food for such an irrelevant price! I tell everybody about him. No other jamerican restaurant in Columbus can compete. I'm from new York with a Jamaican father. It tastes just like some home cooking. He is hands down the best in the 614. The one on Cleveland and myrtle left me sick as hell from their ackee and saltfish. And the other main jamerican spot on Livingston Ave burned my food, rice and all. They felt it was OK to serve it to me like that. No! But he shows you a preview of your plate before you pay. No matter where I am at in columbus, I will travel to here...
