I usually plan where I am going to have a meal that I review. Anyhow,, I was wanting lunch and was on Phillipi Rd and knew there was an Asian restaurant close by. So I decided to try The Twin Sunlight. The Sunlight is small family run affair, just my kind of place. Its a mix of Asian food styles. I chose the Pork with bean sprouts, lunch size. After seeing the nest table served their Pho ( vietnamese soup ) I wished I had ordered that. O well such is life, well, my life anyway. The pork w/ bean sprouts was served fast with a side of fried rice. It was cooked perfect, the protein well cooked and the bean sprouts warm and still crunchy. They added nice slivers of onion greens to the bean sprouts and a rich soy based sauce. The fried rice was also well cooked and just sticky enough, but had a bland flavor. A little more egg and some onion would have helped the fried rice. The portion was slightly small but over all the meal was very good. I noticed the reviews of the Sunlight were either good or bad. Its strange how people can have such polar opinions of this restaurant. As for me, I'll be back, I have to try their Pho .

A delightful and cleanly restaurant, situated off Wilson and Trabue. The dishes are adorned with fresh, colorful vegetables, cooked to a perfect texture and pleasing the senses. The sweet and sour sauce is well-proportioned, neither too sweet nor too runny. The chicken is crunchy on the outside and moist inside. The lo mein noodles are seasoned appropriately and have the ideal texture. The fried rice is also cooked to a high standard. The standout dish is the Beef Hunan, with its generous portion of tender beef, flavorful sauce, and fresh vegetables. We look forward to our next visit to sample more of this establishment's delights.

I had the beef pho and it was ok. The portions were well sized. The beef was a bit thicker than what you would typically expect for a pho dish, which made it harder to cook in the broth. It was meant for other stir-fried noodles instead of pho. The broth didn't taste as rich as I had imagined. Service was great. I think I would get a stir fried noodle dish instead of pho next time I visit

We were excited to try a new place and did carry out.

There was an unpleasant smell hanging in the air when I went inside.

We were ready to dig in when we got home. The top of one of the containers was melted, apparently from the food being put inside directly from the pan. I had ordered Wor Su Gai, and you could immediately see that the chicken was fried very hard, and it was not moist or tender. The fried rice was just a dingy color with no vegetables or anything else.

The Crab Rangoon was chewy.

The "eggrolls" were tiny Spring Rolls at best.

My daughter ordered General Tso, and the chicken was cooked the same as mine, hard and crispy.

Both my and my daughter's main dishes tasted like oil used way past it's prime and I immediately knew that was the smell I had experienced when I had entered the restaurant. The chicken tasted rancid.

It was inedible! So that was the night we threw $50+ in the trash and made sandwiches. I didn't notify the restaurant because it seemed they did the best they could, making a call would be pointless.

I highly DO NOT recommend...

Food is always pretty good but they hustle you on the price, 3 times in a row now I’ve ordered between 12:00-2:00pm. As an experiment, my brother will order 30 mins before and get the lunch pricing for $7.50. I then order and I get the dinner pricing for $9.50 same portion size just $2 more. Instead of offering me or refunding me the difference they insisted on arguing and said, “ you need to specify if you want dinner or lunch ahead of time.” I said it’s lunch time I shouldn’t need to specify and I shouldn’t have to talk to you about getting the price down to $7.50 (they ended up not marking it down to lunch price 😤).

As I was leaving the manager for 12/11 at lunch said you don’t have to eat here if you don’t like. You have lost a customer and no longer will recommend your...
