Chief Burger — Restaurant in Comer

This place is from another time in the old south when you didn’t have commercialized fast food. You come in to the screend-in dining area, order your food from a little window, sit and chat or listen to the conversation of the other folks in there. It might be 30 minutes or so, get your drink ahead of time and sit and relax. This place is cool. The burger was great, so were the fries, even the Coke tasted better. We chatted and watch the people come in. Some of the people called in and were picking up, others waited, some ate there some got it to go. If you drive by and thought about it, stop thinking and just do it. They make your food to order, no heat lamps, and they are busy, so be prepared to sit a while and take it all in. These type of places are few and far between and should be a cherished. Again, this is not fast food. This is the good old south the way it used to be and I am so happy we found it again. I use to visit this place often and it was amazing. I visited today for the first time in about two years. I was excited about stopping here again, but the customer service was nothing like it was. I wanted tator tots with chili and cheese and was told they only had hotdog chili? When I stated that was what I wanted on my tots I was told they didn't have enough. I could only have chili if I was putting it on a hotdog or cheeseburger? Even though I was going to pay for it? My experience was wild to say the least. I've never seen a place only allow you to put chili on certain things even if you're willing...

We came here as the place we were originally going was closed. It was a 20 minute wait as everything was cooked to order. We had hamburger steaks with tots, but one plate had fries instead of tots. The hamburger steaks were dry and we were not told ahead of time that plates came with slaw automatically. The slaw on one plate was simply wasted because I don’t eat it. We also ordered a hotdog and it was over cooked. The menu on the wall seems to be updated, but instead of fixing the amounts, they marked over them with a permanent marker. Will probably not...
