This place isn't bad, but if you never go here you're not missing much.
Out of all the stuff I had, the hash browns was the most unique item. It wasn't super amazing, but it was pretty good. I have eaten at a decent amount of breakfast places and have never had hash browns like these. They almost have a mashed potato quality to them; mushy and chunky on the inside and crunchy on the outside. I would recommend trying them and making your own decision on them, but I think the concept works.
The pancakes are pretty standard but taste good. Mine came out fluffy with a slightly burnt texture to it, which I prefer. I did, however, prefer the French toast at this restaurant to the pancakes. It was just a little bit fluffier and sweeter. The toast was thick cut so it was slightly crispier on the outside and soft on the inside.
The biscuits and gravy are very basic here. I wouldn't recommend them at all. It wasn't terrible, but it just didn't stand out in any way. In my opinion, you are wasting your money if you buy the ones here. Good gravy will have chunks of meat and seasonings in it, and this one was generic, plain gravy. More than likely from can to the warmer.
The polish sausage was good but again pretty generic. They did cut the link in thirds and put the inside part on a flat top so it came out seared a decent amount, though.
The cinnamon roll was really sweet. It looks really good in the picture I took, but in reality it wasn't that special. It was a little tough and I had to muscle my way around with a fork to break it apart. It wasn't too bad, but I wouldn't...
Read moreWaited forever for anyone to acknowledge all the people waiting. People walked out. I finally asked someone passing by if they could atleast let some of the customers sit down until the waitstaff was waiting (as they were elderly and with cames). I was told they would be with us in a minute. After 7 minutes and a few more people walking out they finally acted like they saw us there and sat us. I ordered an easy BLT but there was no mayonaisse and the bread was not toasted. Sandwich was smashed and all the meat was on one side. When asking for toasted bread as was advertised it took almost 10 more minutes to fet it. By then the rest of the food was cold. The lead lady who made the bank deposit spent her whole time outside by the door on the phone talking too loudly about personal about how she needed uplifting because she was so busy and it was too much for her. Yet she hadnt been working at all for the 2 hours i spent there. They opened at 6am and i got there 700 am. Staying till 9 am.. my waitress was alright but seemed exasperated by everything. Will definately not be going back. Every experience therebecomes worse that...
Read moreWe love this place. It has grandma's kitchen sort of vibe. The food is amazing for the most part. But I've been catching more and more attitude when ordering food lately and tbh I don't appreciate it. Your fries are terrible with no salt. There's no denying that. Half the time I ask for you guys to add salt you will, the other half of the time you refuse to add on in kitchen and say here's salt packets. You guys are cooks right? Basic human knowledge says the salt needs to go on the fries right out of the fryer so the salt actually sticks. You handing me a packet of salt doesn't mean it'll stick. I'm paying you for the food just please shut up and throw salt on it next time I ask. Def will not be back for a while. Also please cut up some lemons again. The commerce city tap water with lemon packets isn't cutting it. It's the lil things that go a long way for small businesses 🙌 Avg spending $35 there about every other week or so for the past 2 years. That's not a lot but I'm def in pursuit of the next new hole in the wall gem that this truly use to be/could be with some better more...
