Peking Palace Restaurant — Restaurant in Commerce

Went here for lunch buffet because it had 4 stars. The buffet bar was very small and had limited items. 2 crock pots held the hot and sour soup and egg drop soup. Crab Rangoon was disappointing. One of them tasted like the cream cheese had turned sour already. The others weren’t that great either. Consistency of the cream cheese filling was soupy with pink specs, not like what you would normally see in a good crab Rangoon. It’s as if they tried to thin out the mixture to make it go farther. LoMein was ok with lots of soy sauce. Mongolian beef was mostly onion and sugar. Sesame chicken? I don’t know if I’d call it that. It was floating in a runny brown sauce. Egg rolls were straight up cabbage so I didn’t even bother to taste it. As for atmosphere, if I could give 0 stars….let’s just say I was sweating as I was eating lunch. Didn’t dare go see what the bathroom was like after my husband said it was pretty scary in the men’s bathroom. Also, the owner’s little girl was yelling for her mom every 5 seconds so it was difficult to ignore her. Seats were sticky. I don’t think I’ll be going back. We paid a little over $8 per person so at least there’s that. I guess you get what...

You can tell the people reviewing this place who have just moved to the area from Atlanta and the suburbs and are the ones to blame for crowding the Banks Crossing area. They are the ones giving Peking Palace one star. Is this place perfect? No. It's worn down and looks dirty for those who are used to newer places. But I've been coming here since 1998, when I moved to Georgia and married my wife. My wife has been coming here since before that. We have been coming here since back when Ingles and Walmart were in the strip mall and other stores were there. The food is always good and the service is good as well. In fact I'm about to go get some soup from here for she and I because we're getting over a stomach bug and the wonton soup and egg drop soup will settle our stomachs. I came on here to see how late they're open and saw all the one star reviews, and needed to try to counteract them with my 4-star review. It would have been 5 but I wanted to be honest about the atmosphere. It's worn down after years of REAL Northeast Georgia residents...

The restaurant itself is very dirty,the older lady is always very rude,Ill and has a attitude,We walked in on the way to the restroom in the back to wash our hands noticed before getting there the young guy was eating playing on his phone and asked how many and what to drink,NEVER WASHED his hands before getteing our silverware,napkin and drinks.Well go to the restroom and come to find out the females restroom doesn't even have running water to be able to wash your hands god forbib you also had to use the restroom first!Yes the food is ok,not the best but not the worst either.Yet after eating for a few minutes and just looking around while having a conversation,noticed several other's came in young man was still playing on his phone and eating never washed his hands,the older lady would also go from carrying dishes to the back to handling food right after.There's trash laying around on the tables,floor and seats and completely lost my appetite once I looked up because I believed a fly was flying and crawling around and unfortunately not it...
