Five (5) stars?! Is that ALL I can give?! Pfffft. Doesn't seem fair.
So I'm a little behind the game sometimes. This year was my first time watching the show 'Survivor' and I even participated (and lost) in a pool to determine the winner. I just saw my first ever episode of 'Big Brother' a couple of weeks ago. And yesterday was my first time dining at Digger's. Guess someone finally moved that rock I was living under.
I've been thinking about the garlic fries here for a long time. I love perusing Yelp pictures and the garlic fries (and so many other things) were very memorable. I wanted some jalapenos on my fries so I was shocked when I saw this is actually a menu item! Cajun garlic fries with jalapenos and cheese. I ordered this without the cheese. Husband had a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. And our friend Val had a burger that could probably win awards for size and good looks.
I live in Concord but not very close to here so I would never have known about this great Diner if not for Yelp. I love diners. I love their atmosphere and food and service. The employees here were all friendly with smiley faces. We looked at all the advertising printed directly onto the table while we waited for our food. There was a gravedigger pictured that I pointed out, picturing the man who apparently started this place (the decorations started to make some sense). Husband Casey teased me and pointed at a guy working in the kitchen and said "that's the owner/gravedigger". It wasn't. But RIGHT AT THAT MOMENT the guy actually walked in the front door. OMG. I asked our server if the guy in the doorway was the same as the one on the table. Yes. Yes he was. We even got to meet him and he was awesome.
Food was awesome too. It wasn't a long wait before we were served and everything was great. Even though the fries are cut medium (and I prefer skinny cut) they were still very crispy and good. Lots of jalapenos! And a really good value - tons of food for not a lot of money. We will...
Read moreIf you’re in the Concord area and craving a hearty, delicious meal served with a side of warm hospitality, look no further than Digger’s Diner. This local gem has been holding it down for over 30 years, and it’s easy to see why they’ve become a neighborhood staple.
From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a genuine smile and helpful service that makes you feel right at home. The staff here are top-tier — attentive, friendly, and clearly take pride in what they do.
Let’s talk food: breakfast is served all day, and that alone makes this place a win in my book. Whether you’re a traditionalist or looking to mix it up, there’s something for everyone. • I ordered the classic breakfast plate and was not disappointed — crispy hash browns, perfectly cooked over-easy eggs, thick-cut toast, and savory bacon that brought the whole dish together. • The chicken tenders and fries basket was golden, crispy, and comforting — great for kids or picky eaters. • And the star of the table? A fully loaded omelet with fresh veggies and a generous drizzle of ketchup, served alongside a heap of hash browns and grilled bread that was grilled to perfection. Every bite was better than the last.
The portions are generous, the prices are fair, and the flavor is consistently fantastic. Digger’s Diner is the kind of place you keep coming back to — not just for the food, but for the community vibe and nostalgic charm. Highly recommend for breakfast lovers, brunch dates, or just anyone who enjoys classic diner comfort...
Read moreYesterday, we had breakfast here because it was recommended by the Hyundai rep while we waited for the car to get maintenance done. We were immediately seated. Our orders were taken in a timely manner. The waitress was nice and helpful. We waited about 15 to 20 mins for our food. We were told that there were issues with the kitchen staff, new staff being trained, etc. Honestly, she stated it was a bad day for them, so we should have been told that prior to ordering so we could have decided to go somewhere else. When the food came, my bacon was burnt (I asked for crispy, not burnt), and my French fries were cold. How does food that takes so long to find out come out cold and wrong? My wife's biscuit was together in the top and broken up on the bottom AND served on a dirty plate. We sent all the above back. He country potatoes had no seasoning on them, and the omelet looked on cooked on the egg portion. The food and cheese that was supposed to be cooked in the inside because it is an omelet was not put together as an omelet. It was like the egg just served as a blanket. She did not eat the majority of her food. This does not happen often. The biscuit was good the 2nd time. My bacon came back the same way, I ate around the burnt areas. The bacon was salty.
The manager or owner (I'm unsure of who he was. He did not introduce himself) walked around asking how everything was. I was very honest. He took off 20% from the bill. We will not...
