update Met mitsu friends there for a quick bite late lunchy snacky thing we wanted to try the Dubai strawberry dessert. I ordered the CJ special burrito thing and it was okay but it wasn't great my friend's chicken slider again it looked dark brown like they need to change the oil the tacos the birra taco and the birra quesadilla were fabulous. After we ate we ordered the strawberry Dubai chocolate pistachio... I ordered it I paid for it I waited 20 minutes and then I walked app to find out what was going on with my order and they totally forgot about it. I don't know that they're actually using Dubai chocolate I have the strawberries were really big and hard to eat it just wasn't impressive. Again they had the TV on and it was so loud I couldn't hear the person sitting next to me as we tried to talk
First time there, the food was good there's no description of what is on each item so I would have enjoyed my dish more if I knew that there wasn't raw onions on it I wouldn't expect onions on a grilled cheese and Birra sandwich. The chicken on my friend's quesadilla she said was tender but the batter was fried and it was so dark it almost look burnt so they need to change the oil more often. There are sparse tables I think there was like 5 tables and chairs they needed to be wiped down there was crumbs on them and it's not really a sit down and eat place it's obvious that they really don't want people to sit there because the walls are kind of dingy and it's just not a welcoming environment and they say no public restrooms. There's a lot of dust and debris on the light fixtures that are hanging from the ceiling. They had 1 TV hanging on the wall and it was playing some music but it was so loud I couldn't here what my friend was saying and she was sitting across the table from. I did make mention of it to the young lady at the cash register but she just kinda rolled it off she wasn't rude about it she just kind of ignored the fact that I couldn't hear and I said something. There is a lot of take out going on while we were there. I may eat there again but I would look and see if it had been cleaned up a little bit more and what the orders were that were coming out ahead of me because old oil changes the taste of what is...
Read moregah, this review makes me sooo sad because I've literally been following them on In and around PH for a while and it looked amazing. I'm not sure if it was an off night but it was such a miss for me. We ordered 3 entrees: Barria Quesadilla Spicy chicken fries The special Ribeye & Shrimp hibachi
the quesadilla was fine, it didn't really taste like anything other than stewed meat-- idk when they post photos it always looks like the flavors are going to be complex but honestly it was just a tortilla with a small amount of cheese and some meat. the sauce that it came with was packaged upside down so it spilled everywhere so not sure if that would have elevated this one.
I feel like the fries could be good if you don't get them to go. They were cold and soggy and oil saturated. The chicken wasn't much better-- I don't think I would consider it "spicy" and maybe I just caught them on an older oil day but it just lacked any flavor outside of oily. I feel like it tasted really similar to chicken cutlets I make at home and I'm not even that good at it.
the hibachi was honestly the most disappointing-- the steak was wellllll done, lacked any type flavor and the same can be said for the the rice and the shrimp(it was basically rubber). I honestly got a little irritated with with one & that's not usually a reaction I have to food.
overall it just didn't hit & when you're spending over 60...
Read moreYou can find this spot in Concord. Coming from Oakley, Antioch, Pittsburg, exit Solano Way and it’s right there to the right. It’s my first time at the restaurant but not my first time trying the food. I used to order/pick up food from the owners house. It’s amazing to see that they finally have a spot!
This is a counter serve restaurant, meaning order at the counter and you take the food to your table or to go. The counter is bit high, for shorty like me. And we can’t really see the staff. I’d love to see them work their magic in the kitchen. The restaurant is tiny maybe 6 tables inside. It’s cute but still need a bit more TLC. I liked the vibe in there, the music, the food, the people. Very lively and the music they play…is my jam!
Now for the good stuff. The food, is obviously amazing! If I used to go to their house to get it. I’m definitely ordering here. This time I ordered the chicken and French toast! Come with fresh strawberries and blueberries. If you like salty n sweet this is for you! I also ordered the Ramen Birria, if you like ramen and beef, yes you guest, go get it! The meat is so tender it’s falling apart and not too spicy. This is soooo good especially on winter season. Oh when you go, make sure to order one of the drinks, my fave? The Ube for sure! Duh!!! Until next...
