This business is dishonest. I met up with a group of people and their dogs at Half Pint for some ice cream treats and socializing, and then they put our group on blast on their facebook page. Our group organizer had went in the week before to ask them if it was okay that we held a meet up there and was told yes. Now they are saying we just showed up without asking. There was also some confusion about whether dogs could go in with their owners to order and they were not allowed. There must have been misleading information out there somewhere for our group leader to have read or been told by an employee. Seems like the simple solution would have been for any of the employees to just say, no dogs allowed in the building, when they saw someone bring a dog in. It’s very strange that this business is acting like they were mobbed by crazy people and their dogs and had no control over what was happening. I was there , I did not bring my dog in, and I spent like $20 on treats. I saw many others with treats for themselves and their dogs so the business probably did pretty well that day. We ate our treats and talked and let our dogs greet each other outside. It was a very pleasant day and I didn’t even know there was a problem until I saw we got blasted in their page. Half Pint Creamery is perpetuating a narrative that isn’t true and allowing people that weren’t there, and have no idea what happened, to get all riled up… like they do on the internet. I guess because it’s good for their social media??? The post is very popular and getting lots of likes and comments. And the business just keeps reiterating that our group showed up without asking and making us look bad when it’s completely false. Just really gross behavior. I definitely...
Read moreI have been a customer since the very beginning and LOVE their ice cream, always have. But unfortunately I recently had a bad experience. I was visiting the McSherrystown location and wanted to purchase some ice cream to go. The girl working there saw me walk up to the counter but instead of taking my order, she proceeded to finish her non work-related conversation she was having with her coworker first. After waiting, I purchased two pints of ice cream to go. When I got home and opened one of the containers of ice cream, the entire plastic ice cream container broke and tiny plastic pieces went flying everywhere. All I did was open the lid to the container and it broke. I attempted to try and place the ice cream in a different container but there were too many tiny pieces of plastic in the actual ice cream and I didn’t want to risk accidentally consuming plastic. So I unfortunately had to throw it away. I attempted to contact Half Pint via social media as well as emailing them twice. It has been several weeks and I have received no response back. I am disappointed in the quality of their to-go containers breaking so easily and also disappointed in them not responding to any of my messages/emails to...
Read moreHonestly, once you hit up Half Pint, any other ice cream establishment is going to seem incredibly humdrum. The creator puts out something for everyone-- and you never know what's going to be on the menu when you walk in. I've had Cinnamon Toast Crunch, pumpkin cheesecake, Lucky Charms, root beer, raspberry, Dunkaroo... and even the classic chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. It never gets old and the staff will let you sample whatever you please before you decide.
You have the option of ordering it in a dish, but if you're in the mood for ice cream, you must go for the homemade waffle cone. The employees won't skimp... that cone will be full and you will enjoy every bite. When you go to pay, there is even a little stand for your cone so you can free a hand to pay (and of course, tip the wonderful people behind the counter).
This has become such a fun, local tradition for my friends and family. When visitors come from out of town, I put Half Pint on the MUST DO list. They are open seasonally, so make sure you get there and get...
