My mother and I had a girls weekend and decided to venture out for a good Italian meal.We aren’t familiar with the area being from out of town. I am gluten free so I did make that known from the beginning. We ordered the sausage foundue because I was under the impression it would be like any other fondue dish, that you dip the meat into the cheese. I just told the waitress “mom can have the piece of bread it comes with” She never insisted to me the whole dish was a loaf of bread and this fondue was more of a spread. Why wouldn’t she ask me knowing I’m gf how I would plan on eating this? That would have led me down a path to not order it. Again, I was thinking it was meat/veggies to dip into cheese. Anyway, needless to say, the whole dish was basically a loaf of bread. I apologized and said I was under the impression it was completely different and she took it back. We did not touch it. We didn’t even try it. By the way, my marinated chicken was subpar at best and the potatoes were not all the way done. My mothers pasta dish was nothing authentic. It also took 45 minutes to bring the food. The manager came over to “check in” and began to grill us on how known this dish had been for 26 years and how I should have read the description better. She continued to belittle us about not understanding what I was ordering. She then mentioned she took it off the bill with a regretful attitude. Mind you, it was a 12 dollar item. I hate to tell you but insinuating your Customers are stupid and grilling them with 25 questions about a 12 dollar item “Mrs Big Bully Manager” is not how you retain your Customers. A good manager will approach you to seek to understand how your meal was, what happened and say something like “Sorry there was a misunderstanding we will take it off the bill for you”. I felt like I was a 6 year old being scolded. The waitress came back and did not offer us the dessert menu like they did for the other tables around us. What a joke. If I had cash on me I would have left 12 dollars with a note that said “Since you seem to be struggling financially, I will pay for the item” We will...
Read moreLast night I was to meet a friend at a halfway spot to have an early dinner and catch up, as it has been a lifetime since we had seen each other. Arrived at 4:30 and did not have reservations, however, I thought at this early time slot and with an empty restaurant, there would be no problem getting seated. Lori asked if we wanted to be seated at a booth or table. Told her a booth, which are very roomy for just two people and are clearly meant for 4-6. Behind the booth that We were sitting at was an empty smaller booth for 2. When we were seated we started to catch up and were not quick to order an appetizer. We have all had a dinner like this. Service was more than great because we had to keep turning the waitress away to the point of annoyance because we weren't ready and it became pushy. We were told to order quicker so that our dInners would not be pushed back behind other orders. The waitress seemed a bit anxious with each few minutes checking on us. We had ordered appetizers to start with and it came quickly. I took my first bite and Lori came over to our table and ask us if we could move to the very back of the restaurant because we were too slow and we could take our time back at the back of the restaurant. My friend and I just looked at each other and thought it was a joke at first. NO JOKE! SHOCKED!! The wait staff escorted us to the last table, which surprisingly was a table for 4. Was ROSA PARKS told to sit at the back of the bus? Conneaut, OH 2020 or Montgomery, AL 1955?? They brought our original appetizer to us with new plates. So much for my second bite. So this is why our waitress was so anxious. Both the bus boy and our waitress were overly apologetic and embarrassed. I made light of it and joked with her so she would relax. I have never left a bad review before, but I HAD to share! If Lori would like to have customers return, she has a funny way of showing it. On the way out we passed our original booth... empty. Like a previous review said... NO...
Read moreSo here’s my beef… literally— I’m an out of towner visiting family and we ordered from Biscotti’s which is, for all intents and purposes, around the corner —so food was picked up promptly. Service: the lady on the phone was delightful, helpful, cordial, and thorough…. The food however— don’t put a porterhouse steak on the menu if you don’t know how to cook a steak to temp. I ordered it medium rare. It was well done. That is nothing short of sin to this steak eater. The green beans were undercooked and severely under seasoned. The side salad was the highlight- toasted almonds really put it a step ahead. The stuffed peppers were incredibly flavorful but as a forethought in food packing its probably not the best practice to pack the garlic bread in the same container with the peppers, as the bread was nothing but soggy from soaking up all the pepper and sausage juice. Lastly, i’m unsure if the roasted red peppers were supposed to be sliced on the gorgazola Alfredo but they came in a huge chunk aside the steak medallions that were supposed to be cooked medium but were definitely medium rare - less of an offense in my book, but still not correct.
Needless to say the food order had potential but missed the...
