Went to try out this place. First day it was after 11am so breakfast wasn't being served anymore but dinner is all day? We had coffee looked at the menu and decided to come back when breakfast was available. We returned a few days later to have breakfast and the prices seemed pretty good. Well you get what you pay for is always correct, because the portions were small. The sausage gravy tasted like it came from a can rather than made from scratch how I prefer it.(can get gravy in a can at Walmart)My wife's portions were small as well; however, the kids menu is great. We got the silver dollar pancakes that were actually bigger than expected and came with a drink and cookie for a really cheap price. I would come back here for the kids breakfast but stick to my usual place in town with a view of Roberts park for my breakfast. Staff was friendly and even felt sorry for the waitress when I told her I was leaving my tip on the table and not my card she stated that she often does not get them...no matter how bad a restaurant is if the wait staff is good they...
Read moreLet me start with the pros of the food. Lettuce was fresh, so were the tomatoes. The atmosphere was warm and fine. Now for the cons, service was ok had to ask someone to take our order and was not greeted for about 5 min while server's chatted next to us. After that our waiter met the minimums and was pleasant. The food is where it falls apart. Canned mushrooms, canned greenbeans as the special. Mashed potatoes, rehydrated, I think but I can't be be certain. Gross none the less, and an odd texture. The ground beef was oddly bland and unpleasant for my burger to boot. Peppercorn bites were good the only truly good thing on the menu but a dollar a bite. 5 bites were 4.99 ouch. Chicken was ok, the the texture for the fry was a bit of off and really overall too heavy on the pepper. The deep fried mushrooms were I suspect canned as well. Coffee was really weak and watery I like a light roast but this was diluted. Sadly I don't think I'll be returning 😕 was hoping for a new good breakfast place we go almost daily... much to my disappointment I was really...
Read moreImagine sitting down to eat and all the dishes are amazing and home cooked! This place actually fries potatoes rather than throw them into a deep fryer. Ham is cut from the bone, not processed and machine cut paper thin. Best of all! They use real butter, the stuff from cows, not laboratories!!!! I should add that it also tastes really good!!! This was my first time visiting and I will be back! Pricing is fair for the area and I can see having to wait for a seat in the very near future. Thank you for taking a stand against fast and keeping your recipes traditional. I should also let potential customers know that the decor is antique with lots of personal picture history type charm and the actual kitchen is very much new and up to date!! After our next visit I may have to disclose my...
