Galindo's Bakery + Deli — Restaurant in Conroe

Wait... Did I just have the best sandwich that I've ever had at a furniture store?! Let me just start by saying I am a hamburger and sandwich connoisseur! I love a good burger and I love a good sandwich. I was actually looking for a bakery to just buy sub rolls when I googled and this deli came up. Reluctantly, I decided to try a sandwich because I wanted to just buy the sub and make it myself. When I turned into the furniture parking lot, I was leery, but hey, I was already there. I went inside and ordered The Grinder. Pricing is very reasonable. I would have paid the same thing at Jimmy John's or more. I was all set waiting on my order when I saw the young lady go to the oven with my bread.... that was a big red flag 🚩 to me because I HATE a hot sandwich, however I was just like "I'll roll with it at this point." I got my sandwich and the box was heavy! I was like OK what the hell did she put in this box?! 🤣 I then got outside to open the box and Jesus Christ! The most beautiful, perfect sandwich that I've ever seen! It was not a hot sandwich! She toasted this beautiful Italian bun and made it buttery and then put all of my toppings on ice cold the way a deli sandwich should be! I bit into it and it was orgasmic! So to be honest I have no idea how the food is. Wanna say that right at first. What I do know is it was the absolute worst service I have experienced in a long time. My husband I were shopping for furniture got thirsty and grabbed a couple iced teas. The ice tea was sour, which happens I get it. That was absolutely not the issue at all. We returned to the counter to let the person behind the counter know and ask to switch to a different beverage. He proceeded to tell us there was absolutely NO way possible the tea had soured. And then proceeded to explain how the "making the tea" process worked. Literally showing us how to put the bag of tea in the machine and saying then the water comes out and makes tea. Very very condescending! Up until this point I had been very nice and understanding. I worked in the restaurant business for years so I totally get how tea might sit too long and get soured. He did refund the money but basically throwing it on the counter. We never asked for a refund just a different beverage. We will never spend another dime there. Ordered a Italian Grinder to go get home didn't look like any sandwich I had ever had from there. I basically got a ham sandwich with wilted lettuce that was sort of brown so disappointing. Have always been a regular customer there at least twice a week I called and they said well that's our sandwiches we're just out of pepperoni we're out of this out of that well then you should have told me before you made my sandwich!! I have been a dedicated customer there when it was Jon's. I would think that they would try to make it right to at least give me half price off of Sandwich the next time I came in but no. I said I will not come back if that was the way they were going to act when I called at least they could apologize and said please give us another try but oh no she said well you have a good day goodbye. Guess I will bypass that along with my friends and business owners in the area. Really sad because the owners I have talked to them several times and they have been so accommodating even if you ask for something special they usually do what you asked always the best sandwiches above all sorry it had to end...
