I dislike being too harsh on servers and managers as someone who worked in the food industry for years, but some of the behaviors exhibited are unacceptable. Our party of six constantly had to flag down our waiters throughout the meal, which had multiple mistakes. Items were forgotten or wrong, and we had to wait a while to get the corrected item, and the food was mediocre for the price. On their Facebook, it states that a 20% discount is available for people who live "around lake Conroe". However, when we tried to get the discount for two of our party members who live on lake Conroe, they said the discount only applied to residents of Walden. At that point, we really just wanted to get our checks and be done with it, so we said that was fine. The staff kept asking higher and higher though, and kept our checks in the back for a while, so we were unable to leave. When we finally did get the checks back, they mixed up our cards in the back and I was charged for someone else's order. I ordered a 12$ house salad and was charged 38$. Fortunately the incorrect bill was someone I knew, so we decided to just venmo the money instead of making the staff refund and redo our checks. Again, at this point we really just wanted to leave and enjoy the rest of our stay. Later on, however, the manager Jorge approached our door with corrected bills. Apparently, one of our parents called to complain about the service (we are all adults). So Jorge came to our door with a solution, but instead of handing us the revised bills he decided to target one of our members and yelled at her because her parent had complained. This is what we had the biggest issue with. Multiple times when we talked to him outside the door, we tried to apologize and end the conversation, but he kept escalating the issue and was yelling and arguing. As someone who was a supervisor, I am embarrassed by the audacity to yell at customers who were civil and didn't complain at the restaurant, and even tipped ON TOP of the AUTOMATIC 18% gratuity fee. After all was done, the fixed bill wasn't even correct. I received a 6 dollar refund from the restaurant. 38-12 is 26 (that is before tips and tax) But again, we really do not want to bother interacting with the staff again.
I leave this review not to be petty or to get anything out of it, I just want to let future customers know...
Read moreHorrible experience. To start, it takes forever to get drinks while waiting for a table. However, I wouldn’t waste my time writing a review for just that. Two of the people in our group had expired licenses (March of this year and after) and have had appointments at the DPS for a while, but because of the pandemic, it obviously takes a long time to renew a license. I know this, because mine also expired in February and I finally got my new one in the mail two weeks ago. I have been to four states while it was expired, several bars and restaurants, been asked for my license several times, traveled and went through TSA, and I have NEVER been rudely questioned about the expiration nor have I been denied service because of it. Everyone has been understanding during the pandemic. BUT Landshark in Conroe was an exception. Not only did the two managers come over to our table to rudely question their expiration dates and take away drinks, they brought over a police officer in the middle of this restaurant with them. Our friends are clearly over 21 with an unfortunate situation because of the pandemic, and I can sympathize because I also had to wait forever to get my license renewed. To rudely question them with an officer, in front of everyone in the restaurant and make them feel like they are criminals, was embarrassing to us to say the least. I understand it is at their discretion to serve drinks to us, but the way that it was handled publicly was extremely unprofessional. Not to mention, I was not ID’d and another girl in our group was not, either. To top it off, they tried to charge our group for the two drinks that were removed from our table until we refused to pay for them.
The only positive aspect of this restaurant was Ethan, our server. He apologized for everything even though this event was not his fault. It was nice to have a kind person sympathizing with us after that. Needless to say, we will be letting everyone know of our treatment at this establishment. Considering the reviews below, we are obviously not the only customers that have been humiliated by...
Read moreMy family and I have enjoyed coming here from time to time. The view is very calming and the restaurant appears generally pretty clean.
We went today and the atmosphere was what I would have expected. The issue was the food. My wife's salad came with grilled chicken and they cooked it way too long. It was completely dried out and tough. The salad was also drenched in dressing to the point you really only tasted the dressing.
I ordered the Hawaiian burger and it comes out look really good. the pineapple and bacon were cooked well. The beef patties were paper thin (or just a bit thicker) and they were cooked to the point that they were hard. Not just hard to eat but hard. They were very much extra well done as if they forgot about them when they were making them. The sauce that came on the burger was good but the patty was sat in the sauce which made the bun very soggy.
The next issue is the kids menu. $12 for a kids cheese burger and another $3 for a drink is crazy. The burger for the kids menu came out cooked the same way as mine which made it pretty difficult to get her to eat it.
My mother in laws food she said was very good. However, she heard our comments and doesn't typically like to beat a dead horse; so, it is unclear if it really was or not. She did appear to like it so there's that.
Overall to spend something like $80.00 for lunch for three adults and a kid seems very high for the...
