We are from out of town and read reviews of this restaraunt and others on our drive up here. Stomachs grumbling, we finally made it to check into our cabin at 830 Friday night. The restaraunt closes at 9 so I called them and asked if they could still serve us. (We would arrive at about 845) The lady on the phone said yes and very pleasant. We drove to the restaraunt and walked in and placed our order to go for the BBQ pulled pork sandwich and a BBQ loaded potato, and a slice of Butterfinger pie. The woman at the counter was super polite and we tipped her. She gave us to go menus and told us to come back for breakfast. We said we would. Got the food to the cabin and it was amazing! The next morning, we made our way to the restaraunt again, eager to see what deliciousness awaited us. Unfortunately, we were not greeted, seated, or even waited on. We seated ourselves and waited about 5 minutes til my husband had to walk up to the counter and order, to which the lady replied we were to order at our table. ( she wasn't the same one as the night before) She acted annoyed and came to our table and took our drink order. A few minutes later, another waitress came and asked what we ordered again? Dr. Pepper? No it was sweet tea. She came back again a few minutes later with our drink. Then the first waitress came back to take our orders. 2 egg smoked ham platter, with Hash browns and biscuits and gravy and the reeses waffle. The gravy was burnt. The biscuits cold and stale. We ate our food a lot less enthusiastically than the night before. We ran all the way out of tea and no one came to refill it. My husband, once again had to walk up to the counter and ask for more. He was not pleased. When it was time to pay we asked for a refill of tea to go and the first waitress again acted annoyed. On top of it all we were charged for the country ham instead of smoked ham, which was 2$ more. No tip needed here, apparently they take it without asking? We might eat here again but it will depend on...
Read moreMostly I adore this restaurant but the last few visits have been somewhat unpleasant. Today we ate there and noticed a significant increase in some of the prices for plate menu items. My husband got the chicken fried steak. For 14.95 he was served a mcpatty sized piece of meat with little gravy underneath, a tiny cup of potato salad (like the extra ranch dressing sized cup, a cup sized scoop of mashed potatoes with about 3 tlb of gravy and a roll. Okay, we got over that. My friend ordered lemonade and so did I. They ran out of lemonade with her cup so I got water. She had water afterwards to drink. When we paid the ticket the owner asked if she would like a to go cup of lemonade since thwy had more. She paid for the lemonade already with her supper but had water as a refill. After she asked if my friend wanted on to go, she said that will be another 1.50, that no drinks are free after rudely pointing and saying "listen to me". I was appaled. Also, there was a very bossy waitress ordering around a lot of the waitresses in a snippy curt fashion. We had a girl asking if we wanted refills, she cut her off while at our table saying another table needed her, "i mean now!" And she had to walk away. I have never felt more uncomfortable in a place in my life. I literally pulled our sweet girl over who had been bussing other tables and asked of she was like that a lot. She said no. But I've been here where she was and had a heated argument with another sever. I am saddened that this was our experience. We paid $30 for 2 people and I only had an appetizer and water. Super...
Read moreThis is one of the best places to eat in Heber Springs. In fact itâs one of the only places in Heber Springs that isnât fast food. Every time my friends and I come up to fly fish from Mississippi, we canât leave without visiting our favorite diner on the top of the mountain. Breakfast is my favorite there! Lots to choose from, and very big portions. Save some room for dessert if youâre there for lunch or dinner. They always have homemade pies and banana pudding.
I have visited Arrowâs over 15 times in the past few years and hadnât had a bad meal until the very last time, which was about a week ago. It wasnât necessarily bad, but it definitely wasnât good either. We wanted the Saturday smoked chicken, but they were out and we were served chicken cordon bleu. It wasnât hot and didnât taste great, but hey, every restaurant has their ups and downs. We still love Arrowâs, and I canât wait until our next fishing trip brings us back to this...
