Big Daddy's Eatery — Restaurant in Contiguous United States

Best food in town. We stayed in Winnie for work and ate out every night. This was by far our favorite place during our week stay. The Big Daddy burger did not disappoint. The tomatoes did’t touch the onions as they were separated by two large patties so you don’t even need to worry about that. In addition the buffalo chicken wrap was really good. On top of that the French fries are perfectly cooked. Everything is made fresh to order and took about 5-10 minutes and let me tell you it’s worth the wait. The customer service was great as well. The lady that took our order at the counter was really nice. The way the restaurant is set up you wouldn’t expect anyone to come check on you during the meal as it is a walk up order counter, but she did come make sure everything was to our liking. The dinner room was nice and clean with comfortable chairs and booth seats. I am so appalled and disappointed in the service. I placed an online Togo order at 6:28. Was told it would be ready at 6:58. I arrive at 6:48 to be told the computer didn’t print the ticket. Waited because I had already paid. She apologized. I sat and waited then was told it was all most ready. Was told to pull up front. By 7:18 nothing. I walked in and the older lady asked my name and told her. Yells at the back, do you have the order ready. She proceeds to yell back and state “No it takes 35 minutes for a to go order” Yell that’s not what your system told regardless of the internet issue. The food was tossed in bags. As I’m going through the bags, my chicken wrap fell out of the wrapper onto the dusty counter. It wasn’t even wrapped. As a frequent patron of Winnie restaurants this one has been awful. I go to Big Daddy’s Eatery every Saturday for their special of the day, and it never disappoints. The service is always friendly and attentive — you really feel like part of the family when you walk in. The place itself is small and quaint, but that’s part of its charm. It’s clean, comfortable, and has a relaxed hometown feel.

The burgers are excellent — some of the best around in my opinion — always cooked just right and full of flavor. I’ve brought friends and family along several times, and everyone has enjoyed their meals. The staff truly make you feel welcome, and the food keeps you coming back.
