Went today to Chelos and was disappointed when I got home to eat my pernil (roast pork) and arroz con gandules. No seasoning whatsoever. Sorry but this dish gets a rating of 1 out of 5 (5 being great). The pork had absolutely no flavor it was awful and the rice had very little seasoning. So disappointed. Now the mofongo with shrimp that I give a 4 out of 5. The garlic sauce was flavorful and the shrimp were done perfect the mofongo was slightly hard but eatable otherwise they would have received a 5.And yes I am Puerto Rican and I do make these dishes at home and had them in other truck stop/restaurants, so I do know what I’m talking about.
