I wish I had checked the low review option here and read all of these before we dined here. Please do so. And then read the reviews for the other Amish buffet less than 5 miles away…. It’s like comparing heaven to hell. But I must say our waitress, Arlene was the sweetest ever.

But the food…. Everything was cold, and worse than the worst soup kitchen on the planet or Catholic charities type fare, but worse because I don’t even think those places would serve stale close to rotten food and we wondered if we should call the health department.

The chicken soup tasted like dishwater and prompted an immediate stomach ache, the mashed potatoes on the buffet, and the stuffing and everything else was lukewarm, and the gravy was water. And everything just tasted bad! Our kind waitress showed the kitchen the gravy, and asked them, “what is up with this gravy?” And then she went into the back and found some gravy which she brought out to me and said, “see this is what our gravy is supposed to look like,” and she apologized for the kitchen.

But the quality of the food was just so poor, (except, to be fair, the chicken was actually pretty good) but seems like management is cutting corners like crazy and I don’t know why more people don’t notice, or where these good reviews are coming from but please check the option to read the low reviews- hopefully in time before you head out and go to the one in Berlin Ohio instead- it is not completely perfect, but it is very very good and worth going to. I have no ties to that other place, I just want people to know, and I want the management to take care of business here. At least get rid of outdated or expired food! Maybe go eat at Berlin place yourself so you can see what you are in competition with and find a way to beat them, maybe even do something crazy and use real whipped cream, instead of fake topping on your pies…

PS I forgot to say how bad the hot tea was; it’s made up ahead of time, and you can tell it’s been sitting around forever. It was even a strange color and the crackers they served with the soup were completely stale and outdated, and unlike the other restaurant in Berlin, they don’t even bring dinner rolls to the table.
