⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Dining Experience – Outstanding Service by Adulius and Team!

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Mom Eugenia Shirlington, and I must say — it was one of the most incredible dining experiences I've had in a long time. We were there to celebrate our friend’s birthday with a party of 10, and from the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The ambience of the restaurant instantly transported us to the heart of Greece — the decor, the vibe, and the overall energy were simply perfect for our special occasion.

But what truly made our experience extraordinary was the outstanding service provided by the staff, particularly the manager, Adulius. Managing a large group of 10 people can often be challenging, but Adulius and his team handled it with absolute grace and perfection. From the moment we were seated, Adulius went above and beyond to ensure that our experience was flawless. His warmth, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality made us feel like honored guests, not just customers.

The waitress was equally amazing — she took her time to explain the menu, offer excellent recommendations, and checked on us frequently to make sure we had everything we needed. What stood out the most was how coordinated and attentive the entire staff was despite our large group. Adulius personally checked on our table several times, ensuring our friend’s birthday celebration was memorable and stress-free. Honestly, it’s extremely rare to experience that level of care and professionalism in the restaurant industry these days — and Adulius has undoubtedly set the bar very high.

Now, let’s talk about the food — absolutely phenomenal! Every dish we ordered was bursting with authentic Greek flavors, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented. From the delicious appetizers to the perfectly cooked main courses, every single bite was a delight. You could taste the quality of the ingredients and the chef's dedication to delivering authentic Greek cuisine. Our entire table was raving about the food, and many of us agreed that it was the best Greek cuisine we've ever had.

The ambiance was another highlight of the evening — cozy, upscale, and vibrant — creating the perfect setting for a birthday celebration. It’s rare to find a restaurant that checks all the boxes: amazing food, impeccable service, and the perfect atmosphere — but Mom Eugenia Shirlington truly delivers on all fronts.

The food is good…when you actually receive it.

We tried to go for dinner and drinks around 8:10 at the bar, and we were told the kitchen was closed even though they say they’re open til 9pm. We made reservations for the next week at 7:45pm. We ordered our apps, dinner, and drinks all at the same time. We got our apps, and one entree. We sat waiting for about 20 minutes, we ordered another drink, and then waited another 15 minutes before being told that the bar was closed. We were not told it was last call. Then we noticed my fiancé hadn't gotten his entree. We asked. The waitress went to ask her manager. Came back profusely apologizing and said that they had run out of the dish, and that no one had informed her.

We were offered dessert, but not comped anything from the meal— we didn’t argue about it, but it seemed pretty terrible that we were just offered dessert after not receiving an entire entree that we had ordered an hour before and drinks that we had ordered. The manager didn’t even come out to apologize— which we expected since we didn’t receive our food or drinks.

It seems like management doesn’t care for customer service and we were disappointed since we had spent about $125 on what we did receive.

Not sure why they wouldn’t try to go out of their way to treat customers well especially because they are new to shirlington. If the kitchen closes at 8, don’t take reservations for 7:45– and at least let us know when last call is so we don’t waste our time sitting around for an entree and drinks that never show up. Also, for this sort of issue— where we don’t receive our meal, something should have been offered as a comp. Our waitress was very kind and...

Vibes were good, menu was good, I was ready for a great dinner but most of the food was disappointing. I showed the server a photo of the zucchini fritters and asked what it was and if I could order that. He said it was fritters but that the fried zucchini slices were better and told me to order that instead. I did, and it was a soggy few slices of zucchini. I should have gotten the fritters instead because those slices did not hit the spot. Don’t know if I should be mad at myself for taking the red or the server for giving the rec

I also asked if the chicken breast or half chicken is better. The server said chicken breast is much more popular so I got it. I don’t get why it is so popular. I took a bite and chewed about 15 times before I could swallow it. I gave the middle part another try and it was the same - I couldn’t eat anymore. That was the driest chicken breast and I can’t believe I paid $28 plus tip for that.
