From the moment my wife and I stepped into A & D BBQ & Seafood Kitchen, we were greeted with the kind of warm hospitality that transports you straight to a family cookout. Tucked beside a gas station, this unassuming locale is a treasure trove of culinary delights, serving up generous portions that tantalize the taste buds and warm the soul.
We dove into a feast of fried catfish and shrimp, where each piece of seafood was a testament to the kitchen's commitment to freshness. The catfish, encased in a golden cornmeal batter, was hot and succulent, while the shrimp were plump and seasoned to perfection. It's rare to find such quality where the essence of the food is amplified by the use of clean oil, ensuring that each bite is a crisp, unadulterated joy.
The side dishes deserve their own accolades. The red beans and rice, hearty with smoked meat, could stand proudly as a standalone dish, but together with the accompanying cornbread, it was a match made in comfort food heaven. The fried corn was another revelation, charred to perfection, dressed in a delicate blend of seasoning, olive oil, and just the right touch of butter. Its sweet notes, balanced with a subtle heat, created a symphony of flavors that I have yet to find elsewhere.
Not to be outdone, the Big BBQ chopped brisket sandwich was a marvel. Each bite oozed with the kind of deep, smoky sweetness that only comes from meat that's been given the time and care it deserves. It was a sandwich so fulfilling that sharing was a pleasure, although I can imagine the temptation to indulge in one whole.
A & D BBQ & Seafood Kitchen's fare is more than just food; it's a celebration of skillful cooking that honors Southern tradition. This place is a five-star experience not just for truckers and locals, but for anyone willing to take a detour for honest-to-goodness, home-cooked excellence. And yes, they have banana pudding—because no feast here would be complete without a sweet nod to the classics.
If you find yourself within driving distance, do not pass by. This kitchen is the heart and soul of true Southern cuisine—a culinary beacon that promises and delivers a...

Read moreA B.O.B, Review Coming, First Time Visitor. Two people, one had a seafood food truck. The other had a brick and mortar BBQ Restaurant. They decided to join forces and have been open for 5 months. She is from Louisiana and runs the seafood side, he’s from Arkansas and rollins the BBQ side. I tried the 2 Meat BBQ plate with sausage, brisket, potato salad and beans for $16.00. I didn’t taste any smoke flavor with the brisket, so not sure how it was cooked. However it was tender, but I had to put BBQ Sauce on it, it wasn’t fatty or greasy which is good. The sausage did have a smoke flavor and a little bit of spice to it. VERY GOOD, but be prepared for the kick! The beans were sweet but not baked beans sweet and the potato salad wasn’t potato soup meaning you could tell there are potato’s in it. Both were good IMO. I got 2 slices of bread, pickles and onions. The BBQ was kinda sweet but not too sweet. They have Gumbo on Saturdays, so I will be back to try the seafood side of the operation. George Holmes Recommended, Give them a try. There is room for dining in and they offer a...
