I was looking for a nearby chicken joint and this popped up on Google . I have to admit I was a bit confused when I walked into the place. I didn't see anything indicating how or where to go to order your food. I eventually saw a line start to form so I jumped in. I didn't see anything indicating the menu. It turns out you just go up to the counter when it's your turn to choose a meat and start pointing up the sides you want. Maybe because it was my first time there it felt hind up intimidating. I felt like I was in a Seinfeld episode," no soup for you". As for the food, I ordered 2 fried chicken dinners with various sides. The sides were pretty good, we had sweet potato, fried okra, collards and cornbread dressing with brown gravy. My favorite was the jalapeno cornbread. However the chicken was overcooked and dry. I so much wanted to like this place because the ladies there was...
Read moreA little past Little Rock 🎶 in Conway, sits this little home cooking spot, only open M-F 11-2. Now, you know a place must be good if it’s only open 15 hours a week! The line was 40 people deep, wrapped around the inside of the building, waiting to order cafeteria style offerings. I got the veggie plate: squash casserole, green beans, broccoli and cheese, and white beans with jalapeño cornbread, finishing it off with cherry cobbler. Now, I’m a big fan of southern style veggies and they were all delicious and flavorful. Wasn’t a fan of the cherry cobbler, tasted like your run of the mill cherries with cake like breading and not pie crust. I’m more of a streusel kind of gal anyways. Should have gotten the peanut butter pie, but…. I gotta keep my heart outta this and both hands on...
Read moreThey're extremely proud of their food. It's wayyyy too overpriced for how bland everything tastes. 😒 Not even the desserts taste good, and that's if they even have any desserts left to order by 10:30 in the morning. I've had better tasting food from BJ's Market Cafe in NLR / Homer's and Rosie's Pot & Kettle in Little Rock. Even Chick-fil-A tastes better. Seating fills up quick 😒 they're also uncomfortable, some even have peeling leather. The atmosphere is kinda uncomfortable, feels like a school cafeteria/lunch room. There are so many old people here, they cut in line and don't watch where they're going. I feel like the main reason that this place is highly rated, is because their main demographic is so old that their taste buds are borderline...
